| Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 3:06 AM | | Dear Friends, Procter & Gamble Productions and the New York Television Festival are proud to present the PGP-NYTVF Comedy Talent Search, a nationwide contest to cast a new comedy TV pilot. Actors, comedians, and improvisational performers from all over the country are eligible to audition for the group by shooting and submitting short comedy sketches. From the search, a cast of six to fifteen performers will be invited to Manhattan to attend the NYTVF in September, where they will help develop more...and star in a new pilot, The Procter & Gamble Productions Comedy Hour, recorded live for NYTVF audiences.
As part of the Talent Search, PGP and NYTVF will divide the United States into three regions, Eastern, Central, and Western. To enter the competition, performers in all three regions are invited to record a video of an original short comedy sketch running 2 to 4 minutes in length. Each sketch must include a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 performers. The sketches can be submitted online by uploading them to the New York Television Festival Web site at www.nytvf.com/2007_contests_pgp and MSN Soapbox. The deadline to submit sketches for the Talent Search is August 3rd, 2007.
The top sketch from each region will be determined by a combination of online user ratings and a panel of industry figures. The team members featured in the winning sketch from each of the three regions will be named to the inaugural "Procter & Gamble Productions Players." Sketches will be available for viewing at MSN Soapbox, and the pilot will be aired on MSN Video as it is showcased to the NYTVF's network sponsors.
The newly formed cast of the Procter & Gamble Productions Players will be flown to Manhattan to attend the New York Television Festival, which runs from September 5th through September 10th. Once the teams arrive, members will be shuffled from their original teams into three new groups. These groups have 48 hours to create and rehearse three new comedy sketches. At the end of the second day, the troupe will star in a live performance for TV executives and industry attendees of the New York Television Festival. As part of the performance, the regional winning teams will perform the sketches they submitted to the contest, and the shuffled teams will perform their new sketches. This live performance will be paired with rehearsal footage and backstage interviews to comprise The Procter & Gamble Productions Comedy Hour, a new TV pilot produced by Procter & Gamble Productions and the New York Television Festival.
Procter & Gamble Productions and the New York Television Festival are proud to provide aspiring comedy performers this unique opportunity to achieve national recognition. We look forward to enjoying the work of great undiscovered talents just waiting to be noticed. For more information on "The Procter & Gamble Comedy Search," please visit www.NYTVF.com.

The Xbox LIVE Originals contest is a separate initiative from the NYTVF’s third annual Independent Pilot Competition (IPC), which is currently seeking live-action and animated submissions in all TV genres. Artists may enter similar pilots to both the Xbox LIVE Originals contest and the IPC provided that they adhere to the length and content restrictions for each. TV pilots that premiered at the NYTVF Independent Pilot Competition have already gained the attention of the entire industry. “Split the Difference,” winner of Best Comedy Pilot and the TV Guide Audience Award in 2006, was purchased by NBC Universal Television Studios and is currently in development. In 2005, pilots sold to A&E and the Versus network. Submissions to the IPC must be 15 to 22 minutes in length and submitted before the final deadline on July 6th. Submissions received before June 1st receive a $20 discount on the $50 dollar entry fee. For complete rules and guidelines to the Independent Pilot Competition, visit:

Thank you again for your continued support of the New York Television Festival. We are proud to be working toward giving artists and producers a greater voice in the industry. We wish you good luck on your pilots, and we look forward to seeing you in September!
