The minister at our UU Fellowship gave a sermon on one of the Buddhist 8 fold paths. She made a comment on how the online game Second Life adopted many of Buddhist principles as rules of behavior. During   more...discussion afterwards, one of the members said that they felt that Second Life was irrelevant, that people hide in avatars of themselves, so that no real comunication takes place. In this walking video, I give my take on it, since I was up teaching the high schoolers.

About a year ago, I gave a sermon attempting to explain the approaching era of trans-humanism, I didn't do a good enough job! lots of work to do, got to help get people ready for the future, so it doesn't hit them like a truck!  less

Since 1997 a team of digital media researchers at UCSB has been fostering a cross-disciplinary field that unites science and engineering through the use of   more...new media. This ongoing effort has already culminated in the establishment of a community that is pushing the boundaries in large-scale multimodal and interactive computing.

In order to advance and integrate this research making it available to a broader community, an immersive instrument scaled to a proportion that will allow for multi-modal multi-user research is being developed. Such an instrument will allow for synthesis, manipulation, and exploration of large-scale data sets in an environment that can simulate virtually real sensorial perception providing multi-user immersive and interactive research interfaces.

Existing current research facilities are designed so that unimodal components can be explored individually.

The Allosphere will host two kinds of research activities: inherent and functional. Inherent research comprises all of the activities that use the instrument as a research framework for immersive, multimodal environments while Functional research includes those activities that will use the Allosphere as a functional tool for scientific exploration.

And oh yes, PSYOPs too. The problem is that the mainstream media isn't going to tell you anything you need to know, because they're guilty of treason and murder and they know it! The best they can hope for is that you blame Bush, Blair, and Cheney or that you just never question anything and pretend that Osama made everything happen with his 19 suicidal friends.
