Full version of the fandub

WARNING I recorded this video from my computer monitor screen, so the video quality is very low. The frame-rate is about one per second, and scan lines are showing. Yes I'm too cheap to buy screen capture   more...software.

Anyways I was lurking in BowieChick's chat room back in November 2006, just because she is hella funny, and I just can't get enough, of listening to her talking about nothing. So I decided to video tape it. That night she was chatting with Lindsay (who was off cam), about music for a video they were planning. A number of other YouTubers stopped in her room to chat too. You can hear some of their voices, in this video. I wasn't logged in, so I don't know what all the conversation was about. I don't think it really matters anyway.

I thought it might be interesting to post it here, for any of her fans, who might not have been able to catch her live. I first posted an edited version of this on YouTube last year. But now for the first time you can see the entire video (all one plus hour of it). BowieChick Live and Uncut.

Anyway this is pretty much what her chat room is like all the time. She goes on like this for hours. I don't think she goes on Stickam anymore, but here is her profile anyway.

This was originally the 40th Pokemon episode, this episode chronologically comes before ROUGELA'S CHRISTMAS and after   more...FOREST OF PIKACHU. This episode has no place at this point in the storyline.

The igloo scene with Team Rocket was heavily edited. There is a scene cut of Meowth (Nyarth) lighting candles with a match while Jessie explains how good the snow-rolls were, and one shot of Meowth holding a lit match was painted out and replaced with a candle. All shots of Meowth and Jessie lighting matches and holding lit matches were cut. Altogether, 24 seconds were cut from this scene.  less

One 29-second scene that's removed from the dub involves Team Rocket trying to blow up the criminals' hideout   more...in order to rescue Simon by firing three missiles. The first two missiles hit the roof yet don't do any damage, and the third one sends the trio flying.  less

The shot right before the title card where Misty hits Brock with a log was cut from the English dub for being too violent. This kind of controversy surrounded   more...the 1st and 3rd episodes.  less

Mother Miltank! The Desert's Secret!

Air Date: June 19, 2001

There is about 1 minute of this episode removed from the English dub. The scene where Meowth (Nyarth) talks to Miltank about how Pokemon come   more...to the oasis for healing was heavily cut. In the original Japanese version (as shown here), Meowth speaks to Miltank about the aforementioned details. Then, Meowth and Ash (Satoshi)’s Cyndaquil (Hinorashi) start to suck on Miltank’s udders for nourishment. All references and shots of Meowth and Cyndaquil sucking on Miltank’s udders were cut from the English dub.  less

Some shots were cut and shortened for the English dub for time, an example of a deleted shot in this episode is the establishing shot of the Wobbuffet (Sonans)   more...village.  less

Nyorozo's Evolution!

Air Date: May 9, 2002

There are a lot of slapping shots in this episode, and 2 of those shots were deemed “too violent” for the English dub. There are 2 separate shots of Poliwrath   more...(Nyorobon) violently slapping Jessie, and while doing so, and in one of those shots, she has red spots on her cheeks from the intense slapping by Poliwrath. Both these shots were cut from the dub and replaced with an alternate animation. The same thing applied with the 1st and 3rd episode, where Misty slapped Ash for letting his Pokemon get hurt.  less

Tag Battle! The Final Gym!!

Air Date: August 12, 1999

The scene where Luana mistakenly identifies Ash for her son Travis was slightly edited for the dub. There is a shot that clearly shows Ash's face pressed   more...against Luana's breasts. This shot was cut from the dub.

Another shot of random Pokemon excersing in the resort was cut, probably because one of those Pokemon was a Jynx, a Pokemon that was back then considered an offensive racial stereotype. The redesigned Jynx now has purple skin instead of black skin.  less

Firefighting Showdown! Zenigame VS Kameil

Air Date: July 29, 1999

NOTE: The scene in the log cabin with Team Rocket was slightly edited for the dub. The scene where Jessie (Musashi), James (Kojiro) and   more...Meowth (Nyarth) are fighting over who gets to pick a Wartortle first, and then Meowth scratches Jessie and James's faces, then they have a brawl. In the original Japanese version (as shown here) you actually see Meowth violently scratching Jessie and James' faces with an almost perfect and fluid scratching animation, with the resulting bloody scratchmarks on their faces. In the English dub, the scratching shot was cut, and was replaced with 2 shots of colored stars with a black background. It was edited for being too violent, as it was very violent for this type of show.  less

Kanna of the Shitenno! Ice Battle!!

Air Date: June 3, 1999

NOTE: The scene where Ash (Satoshi) first challenges Prima (Kanna) to a battle was cut short in the English dub. In the original Japanese version,   more...he challenges her to a battle, but she smiles and doesn’t take him seriously, and he blushes in embarrassment and anger. Ash then says something inappropriate about Misty (Kasumi) in front of Prima. This really angers Misty, and she shouts at Ash, and he walks away and finds another trainer to battle. This 25 second segment was cut from the English dub, and in that version, after Ash challenges Prima, it is simply implied that he feels sorry for her because she didn’t accept his challenge.  less
