impromptu Tinikling at Ramon Obusan's home. Tinikling is a Philippine folk dance. I am not an expert but this is my understanding of one of the folk tales. When the farmers plant rice birds come to   more...eat the seeds so the farmers devise traps made out of bamboo to catch the birds legs. The Tikling is one of the birds. The dancers are depicting the birds jumping in and out of the bamboo traps. The man on the right is a national artist of the Philippines know for his research and teachings about folk dances. After the lecture and demonstration by his dancers he invited the audience to show their skills.
