It's dark but you can hear it.
I don't know why it almost always storms when it's dark.
At first you can hear the thunder in the distance and it moves closer and closer.
The storm moves in and I almost get   more...hit by lightning twice LOL.
At about 4:47 remaining is the first strike. Then with 51 seconds remaning is the CLOSEST lightning strike I've EVER been to. It's so close that you can hear the "pop" from the bolt before the thunder!

We had a severe thunderstorm roll through about two hours ago. Naturally, I grabbed the camera and started recording out the back door.
It's dark so you can't see anything most of the time but you can   more...sure HEAR it so turn UP the volume. Occasionally you can see some lightning. The little light that bounces around most of the time is the light on the front of a house a block over.
Yeah, I know some people might find it lame that they can't see anything. But remember, it was dark and I could barely see anything either. The only way I could see was from the little bit of city light that was reflecting back from the clouds.
Not being able to see much of what's going on is what makes it more nerve wracking. Believe me, my nerves were wracked after this one. Took me a couple hours to get calmed back down.

Anyhow, the wind came up and started snapping tree branches, a power transformer blows out (at 2:20 in the video) and you can see a dim flash from that and hear it. It makes a popping sound and then a loud electrical buzz.
Then a HUGE, CLOSE bolt of lightning that hits shortly after scared the crap out of me (@ around 3:40 into the video).
After I recorded this video I came into the living room and found the front door had been blown open and rain had blown in half way across the room.
This storm spawned several tornado WARNINGS.

I took this video from my front yard! Around the same time my neighbors house was struck by lightning...about 100 feet away. It probably wasn't smart to be holding a can of coke! Music by radiohead!

On May 2, 2008 an EF-3 Tornado impacted the towns of Earle and Turrell, Arkansas. I'm still alive! [t'was a triumph, great success...]

I recorded this about a month ago - sorry, no video. I only had a microphone on me, and I'm still trying to find a video camera for recording.

This   more...improv turned out a bit more harmonious than I expected, so here you are. It's primarily an experiment; there are "mistakes," if you see misplaced harmonies and very intentional accidentals as such. When I improvise, I tend to imagine a scene, like for a film, then fit the music to the mood of the scene. Here I was imagining a storm, so hence the title.

We had a really bad storm this afternoon. Heavy flooding rains, thunder, lightning, strong winds, and some areas had hail and tornadoes. Video taken March 3, 2008.

There was this crazy insane thunderstorm coming in! I was so scared. =(

The thunderstorm rolled in on the 13th, but didn't play out the way I'd hoped. We haven't had a good t-storm in the longest time :(

well the sky got real dark. and i love it when that happens, thought oh no im goin to tape my first thunderstorm.... not!!!!! lol... but the clouds got nice, and i seen a dove....oh well, maybe next time..
