This very short video of personal moments from Hurricane Ike, the storm that slammed Galveston and Houston in 2008. Linden Hudson shot this simple, short video of events as seen from his house. Nothing   more...spectacular here, it was dark when the storm rolled through Houston. Linden was without electricity for eleven days. He was lucky. Others were without electricity for a month. People in this neighborhood had to cook on their driveways for weeks on charcoal grills or camp burners. We see a "looters will be shot" sign on a house the next morning in this video. Interesting. But, things were actually very orderly in these parts after the storm. This was a hardcore storm.  less

Duke and his best friend brave a REAL Texan Twister in Texas Hill Country. It touched ground within a few hundred feet   more...of us, and sent us seeking shelter in the Texan Hill Country town of Llano, where another two tornadoes were reported to be approaching. Lucky for us, the last two set down far enough that we only got a huge amount of rainfall, and one of the most beautiful lightning storms I had ever seen.  less
