It was cloudy but beautiful along the Rideau River, on Sunday afternoon

A quiet spot on a bridge over the Rideau River (pronounced Reed-oh). Sadly, two people drowned two weeks before, one, an off-duty Navy rescue person, trying to rescue a drowning teen. A reminder that   more...even the most quiet river can have hidden dangers.  less

The Rideau River is running pretty swiftly due to the heavy run-off. This is at Nicholson's locks, just south of Burritt's Rapids.

This is one of the abandoned houses I featured in my "The House Where Nobody Lives" video. I thought I should make a return visit... before it's gone.

There was an amazing sunset this evening (film to follow) and when I followed it down to the Rideau River, I found thousands of Canada Geese settling down for the night on the river.
