The Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry decided to urge Tokyo-based importer JT Foods Co. to stop imports and sales of the dumplings, while notifying China of the situation through the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo. JT Foods announced Wednesday evening that it would pull from store shelves two kinds of gyoza dumplings that are believed to have caused the food poisoning and 21 other items made at the same production plant in China. The police have detected traces of an organophosphate called methamidophos inside packaging which is often used in China as a pesticide but is rarely used in Japan. The police said they believe organophosphates may have been mixed into the dumplings during either production or packaging and they will investigate the food poisoning as possible attempted murder. According to the health ministry, the dumplings involved in the cases in Chiba and Hyogo prefectures were ''Tezukuri Gyoza'' (handmade gyoza dumplings) and ''Tezutsumi Hitokuchi Gyoza'' (handmade bite-sized gyoza dumplings), respectively. Both products were made by the same Chinese company and imported by JT Foods. Of the 10 victims, five members of the same family in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, complained of diarrhea and vomiting after eating frozen dumplings and were admitted to hospital. One member of the family, a 5-year-old girl, was in a critical condition after temporarily losing consciousness. Her parents and two other children were also seriously ill, according to the police. None of the victims is in a life-threatening condition, they said. Two people in the city of Chiba and three in Takasago, Hyogo Prefecture, reported similar symptoms, but all of them have been released from hospital. Gyoza dumplings, wrapping ground meat and vegetables fillings in a thinly rolled piece of dough, are a popular food item. less Tags: gyoza dumplings china attempted murder pesticides imports japan chiba hyogo health labor and welfare ministry chinese embassy in tokyo Category: News Views: 664 Comments: 0 Added: Jan 30, 08 By: kiyowaterz | | | | | Part 4 Zegeecom Amazing video explaining nutrition and politics through farm bill discussion 06:05Please visit www.Zegee.com for more health and wellness videos. There is a revolution going on in the farm fields and on the dinner tables of America, a revolution that is transforming the very nature of the more...food we eat. THE FUTURE OF FOOD offers an in-depth investigation into the disturbing truth behind the unlabeled, patented, genetically engineered foods that have quietly filled U.S. grocery store shelves for the past decade.
There is a cabal of power-hungry corporations that are systematically destroying humanity's future. These companies have taken over the food supply, injected pesticides, viruses and invading genes into staple crops, engineered "terminator" genes that make crop seeds unviable, destroyed the livelihood of farmers and used every tactic they could think of -- legal threats, intimidation, bribery, monopolistic market practices and many more -- to gain monopolistic control over the global food supply.
One documentary brings you this astonishing story. Through the testimony of family farmers, ecological scientists, agricultural experts and numerous public documents, The Future of Food tells a horrifying, heart-stopping story of how Big Agriculture has sold out the future of human civilization for the almighty dollar.
The Future of Food is a compelling, eye-opening documentary that I consider a "must-see documentary" by anyone who eats food (which probably includes you). Even if you think you know everything worth knowing about your food, there's still a dark secret the biotech companies believe U.S. consumers should not be allowed to know: That many foods are genetically engineered with dangerous pesticides and foreign DNA, and there is currently no U.S. law requiring their labeling as such.

The future of humanity is determined by the future of food What's at stake here is not merely control over today's food profits. The actions taken by Big Agriculture are systematically destroying the very agricultural biodiversity that will one day be desperately needed to save us from a global food crash. And at the same time these multinational agricultural giants are destroying our food biodiversity, they're also patenting seeds, then using imperialistic intellectual property law to extort profits from farmers, universities and research institutions all over the world.
The whole problem of genetically engineered crops became a tidal wave of trouble following the U.S. Supreme Court's ill-fated decision in 1980 to allow corporations to patent life. The patenting of the first genetically engineered microbe opened the floodgates to corporate greed, and it wasn't long before Big Ag firms began patenting every seed they could get their hands on (a process called "biopiracy"), stealing the inventions of nature and declaring them to be their own.
Today, an astonishing 20 percent of the human genome is now owned by corporations. The simple act of reproducing by having children is now a violation of U.S. patent law. Technically, the corporations that "own" these human genes could sue the parents of all newborns, demanding royalty payments for the use of their intellectual property.

Such "cocktails of contaminants" are frequently detected in nature, the paper notes, and the Pitt findings offer the first illustration of how a large mixture of pesticides can adversely affect the environment.Study author Rick Relyea, an associate professor of biological sciences in Pitt's School of Arts and Sciences, exposed Gray Treefrog and Leopard Frog tadpoles to small amounts of the 10 pesticides that are widely used throughout the world. Relyea selected five insecticides—carbaryl, chlorpyrifos, diazinon, endosulfan, and malathion—and five herbicides—acetochlor, atrazine, glyphosate, metolachlor, and 2,4-D. He administered the following doses: each of the pesticides alone, the insecticides combined, a mix of the five herbicides, or all 10 of the poisons.http://www.emfnews.org less Tags: acupuncture chronic fatigue syndrome dangers of cell towers airtube headset bluetube headset cell phone radiation protection products cell tower radiation mobile phone radiation golf qlink radiation safe airtube headset emf protection Category: Video Blogs Views: 5 Comments: 0 Added: Mar 9, 09 By: paully333 | | | | | Part 6 Zegeecom Future of food Genetically modified organisms patenting of life. 07:47Visit www.Zegee.com for more health and wellness videos.
