People usually have their reasons for doing things the way they do.

Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands. I fly there to look at something... hehehe... I can only say that this is going to be a long series.

I take a look at an '04 Yamaha R1. It's pretty, but there are some things that I really didn't like about the bike. This bike is one of my choices.

We assemble at the car show, but it rains like a big monsoon. We end up getting some eats. I end up having some Thai food again. Gosh, I'm hooked on it.

Here's a quirk about Hawaii for you: there are many streets that changes names as you drive along them. We see a street that has 3 names in 3 blocks. when you're stuck in traffic, you start noticing   more...these things... and doing stuff like stoppies (endos).  less

So I have some medical school friends doing their residencies in Hawaii because they're   more...Army and work in Tripler Hospital. They've invited me out for the month of July so I really hope to meet up with 88Hawaii while I'm there and that it won't be as hard to do as it was for him to meet Mordeth13.

Love your vids 88, they were inspiration for these and I hope to be able to say hi while I'm out there. It'll be a far trip for me coming from NJ, so I'm really excited to see sunny HI.

It's the day before leaving to see my granny in Taiwan.

Whenever I get a new pre-owned bike, I just change the darn oil. I just don't know how well the previous owner took care of the bike.

At the end of the day, will it matter if you have a lot of people that know you, but don't care about you? This is a comment on a video that I saw about this comment, and I totally agree.

I was suprised at the big turnout. There must have been 100 riders. It's one of the bigger rides that I've been on. It's well organized and coordinated. I have to hand it to these guys. They planned   more...the event well.  less

I land in Kahului Airport in Maui, an island just east of Oahu. Awaiting me at the airport is my motorcycle!

I'm going to Maui, whether the nazi-environmentalist Sierra Club keeps the Hawaii Superferry from operation or not. The Sierra Club people are a bunch of idiots that won't protest 3000 tourists coming   more...on a mega cruiseliner, but will freak out with 500 people on a ferry. My ferry trip with the motorcycle was cancelled from a judicial restraining order, so I couldn't take my motorcycle on. I booked hotel rooms, and they were non-refundable, so I had to somehow get my bike over to Maui. I resorted to air cargo, which was nearly the same price as shipping it by boat.  less

I hadn't organized a big cruise for 2 - 3 months now, so I decided to put one together. We had a nice turnout of 37 participants. Quite a good turnout.

I really struggled with buying this bike. It was a great deal, but when I test rode it, it felt weak and powerless. I guess that what happens when I get used to riding a liter bike. It's not the same   more...anymore. It had a mere 2200 miles on it!!! A 2004 model, for only $5000. What a deal! I agonized over it when I passed it up. *sigh*  less

I am on the hunt for another bike. I made up my mind, and that's what I'm going to do

I wanted something that was a little different, so I went ahead and modified an existing tank bag, and also made it into a tail bag. It's worked out much better than I had imagined. I'm really happy   more...with it.  less

I head up to the Pali Lookout. The Old Pali Road was the road was a way to get from one side of the island to the other. They've since turned the road into a state park & scenic lookout.

I take my new camera and camera setup for a test ride.

Not much talking in this video. It's that road to Hanauma Bay again. Great scenery, but slow cars that get in the way. Great road when there's no cars in the way.

It's been a long day. I thought I was going to freeze to death. I was soaked wet, and the wind chill at night was making me regret wearing my mesh jacket. I should have put on leathers.
