 | | PREVENT EARLY BATTERY DEATH Zivan Battery Charger 00:34Old-timers will tell you this much: "Batteries don't die -- they are murdered!" So, what killed electric cars? Would you like to 'cuff the real killer? If you've surfed around to see what's been more..."cooking batteries" in electric cars, you'll likely see postings in EV forums with opinions that indicate the popular Zivan (NG1, NG3) battery charger is responsible for premature battery pack death. (One alternative method to this listing would be to use Voltage Clampers; however, our tests show that voltage clampers and Battery Balancers cannot handle the amps delivered by the intermittently-rampaging Zivan charger. Furthermore, voltage-clampers draw significant amps while at rest, reducing power at all times, which is rather counter-productive.)
Batteries should last at least 3 years in electric vehicles, and even 8 years' life is not impossible, if the battery chargers can be tamed, and if the vehicle owner knows how to operate the battery charger like an "old timer".
Want to learn how to prevent the Zivan from cooking an EV's batteries? But, why not -- if the replacement cost of your electric vehicle's batteries is $3,000
