On the night of recording this (Friday 18th of July 2008) I had been playing about making stuff up at random for a couple of hours when I   more...finally decided to record myself. I had only intended to record for a few minutes, but before I realized it I had recorded a full tape (60 minutes). In these videos I've edited the 60 minute video down into 4 short videos where I believe the most interesting sounds can be found.

I took piano lessons for a year some 5 years ago, but then got too busy to continue because of school. I carried on playing about with the piano every now and then making up stuff at random as a way to relax. Up until the time of making these videos I had never recorded myself playing.

just a little thought i had.....

A test of my new Samson C01U microphone recording my keyboard more than anything else. My piano skills have been off ever since I had surgery on a compromised nerve in my left arm several years ago (successful-   more... more...most function was preserved), accentuated by my being WAY out of practice.

Keyboard is a Roland EM-10, and it doesn't have enough keys. I don't have any pedals for it, and it's been broken more than once.

My (short) part in the Korean film "My Piano" (2006) (a.k.a. For Horowitz) starring Uhm Jung-hwa.

I wasn't in this film long but I was only one of two foreigners to get a credit so that was pretty   more...cool! I would have had more lines but the director wasn't impressed with how young I looked on the day of shooting (must be that new miracle cream I'd been using!!!!!!!! LOL) so he gave my lines to my "husband." Ah well, c'est la vie ...

Synopsis:

Kim Ji-su is a 31-year-old single woman who once wanted to become a famous pianist like Horowitz. Her dream was shattered but she was able to go on by teaching children to play piano. One day, she discovers a young boy Gyung-min, is a musical genius. She starts to give him intensive music lessons, preparing him for competition, but it does not turn out well. But later, when all seems lost, Ji-su is utterly shocked when she realizes that Gyung-min carries a secret that will change her life forever.
