Two mainstream news clips on the Morristown UFO reports, aired after the hoax was admitted to by the two hoaxers.

Joe Rudy, 28, and Chris Russo, 29, have been charged with disorderly conduct, after prosecutors there learned of the hoax on YouTube, where they actually showed us how they did it - red flares, helium   more...balloons and fishing line. But UFO researchers stepped in originally and reported on this case, and network television - UFO Hunters - carried a segment on it.

Were they “exposing pseudoscience” as they claimed or merely exposing their desire to appear superior to those who they believe are afflicted with the “sickness of belief”?
I don’t suppose it matters as it seems all they’ve really exposed is their naivety by confessing to creating a potential fire hazard and by doing so making themselves culpable to the charges they subsequently face.

I know the vast majority of people realised that the Haiti YouTube video was undoubtedly a hoax, especially so after David Sarno of the LA Times secured an interview   more...with the creator/hoaxer of the clip.

AUSTRALIAN UFO WAVE

In April 2006, the Australian Film Commission funded an experimental digital video project by director Christopher Kenworthy.   more...Between June and mid-August 2006 thirty-one clips of UFOs were created. The UFO videos were distributed over the internet via websites and video podcasts, as well as being presented at a website titled the Australian UFO Wave.

By the middle of 2006, word about the videos spread, as new videos continued to be added - some were excited by the footage, others remained cynical. The project was hugely successful, being viewed by many millions of people. Very few people suspected that the clips were manufactured. Gradually, the level of plausibility was reduced, but only when the last two clips were uploaded did a large number of people get suspicious. (At the start of August, a new video - this time of an actual alien - seemed to tip the scales for most everyone in favour of the site being a hoax.)

So, in mid-August, an Australian filmmaker by the name of Christopher Kenworthy stepped forward to claim responsibility, describing the project not as a hoax or deception, but as "an immersive artwork".

Christopher Kenworthy also revealed that the site was part of a larger project, that of creating a documentary about the 'immersive artwork' and public reaction, which was made possible by a grant from the Australian Film Commission.

So can it still be classed as a funded disinformation campaign when it’s openly stated as such? (Well, it was stated a couple of months after the first clips were uploaded.)

Last month (April 2007), my wife and I were on a walk when we noticed a very large, very strange "craft" in the sky. My wife took a picture with her cell phone camera (first photo below). A few days later a friend (and neighbor) lent me his camera and came with me to take photos of this "craft". We found it and took a number of very clear photos. Picture #4 is taken from right below this thing and I must give my friend credit as I was not brave enough to get close enough to take this picture myself!

The craft is almost completely silent and moves very smoothly. It usually moves slowly until it decides to take off. Then it moves VERY quickly and is out of sight in the blink of an eye. MORE THAN ANYTHING I simply want to understand what this is and why it is here?

We found your show with Google and I have listened for a few nights now. I have decided that if anyone can help me understand what this thing is, it is you and your audience. I must admit I am deeply unsettled by this thing. I have never seen anything like this in my life...

Belief in alien autopsies is a common element   more...of UFO conspiracy theory. Film footage, purporting to show an alien autopsy, was promoted during the 1990s by Ray Santilli, a London-based video entrepreneur. However, Santilli announced in 2006 that the film was not genuine

Ray Santilli and fellow producer Gary Shoefield announced that their film was only partially real (a "few frames", in their words), while the rest was a reconstruction of twenty-two rolls of film, averaging four minutes in length, which Santilli had viewed in 1992 but which had subsequently degraded from humidity and heat. They said that only a few frames of the original were still intact by the time they had raised enough money to purchase it.

Santilli and Shoefield stated that they had "restored" the damaged footage by filming a simulated autopsy on a fabricated alien, based upon what Santilli saw in 1992, and then adding in a few frames of the original film that had not degraded. They have not identified which parts are original footage.  less

Joe McGonagle - MoD UFO File Release

The third video clip is of Mr McGonagle from Goldenhill was one of the members of the public who pressured the MOD via FoIA requests (prior to this release) as he speaks of the release (audio).
"Since the Freedom of Information Act was introduced, three of us put together £1,800 to pay for FOI requests....We made full use of the act. We have been trying to get the MoD to release this information, but they have always refused, on the grounds that it would take too much work.....The pressure has increased on the MoD because of all the FOI requests they have received..... Between the three of us we have filed dozens and dozens of requests for information about UFOs.....We have probably filed between 120 and 150 FOI requests between us in three years."
The files, which have been transferred by the MoD to the National Archives, also contain briefing papers for a House of Lords debate about UFOs in 1979.

YT user 'theufokid' videotapes a common MD-500 helicopter, but his videocamera is SO bad, that he seems to forget what he shot, and says "this is not human made".... let's see, rotors, skids,   more...main body, tail rotor... if it looks like a chopper, sounds like a chopper.....it's a chopper buddy.
