Marching band at football game puts on a great show!

Marching Gaily is a film about a very peculiar day in Vienna on 19th June 1999. Two parades on the same street took place simultaneously, one was a policeman’s march, the other a gay pride march. One’s   more...mind boggled at how this could have happened, but the administration’s solution was for the gays to march clockwise, and the police officers anticlockwise! The police officers had their brass bands, motorbikes and even patrol boats on carriages, and of course looked very macho in their militaristic, leather uniforms, or did I get confused with the leather queens? The marchers on the gay pride march consisted of the usual drag queens, muscle marys, and men and women with various bits of their anatomy on display. Despite the antithesis, the similarities were quite striking in that both groups of marchers were demonstrating pride in themselves and were, dare I say it, having fun. It takes a special kind of loser to try and crash a marching band performance.

This could be one of the strangest things I have seen in a while...

From Episode 1933: The title pretty much explains it all; Sesame Street used to air several films with more...the same marching band, judging by the uniforms. Some (like this clip) showed the people   more...forming/announcing a geometric shape; others taught numbers by counting drumbeats. (Before anyone asks: the three I've posted here are the ONLY clips I have from that collection so far.)  less

Enough! I've had it! Politicians not listening to the voters, lack of action on global warming, no political leadership, corruption, I went out today with my sign and protested for an hour on a busy street.   more...Several beeps, a few thumbs up and a couple of puzzled looks an hour of breathing Global warming gasses and I feel a whole lot better!!
