Our beloved 11 year old cat Li'l Black Sambo ("Sam") was diagnosed with feline breast cancer on July 19, 2006 and the vet said Sam only had a month to live. It's November now, and here we are,   more...in an attempt to cheat the old b4stard Death out of a few months, at the University Veterinarian Hospital for Sam's seventh chemo treatment. Sam is a very adaptable and courageous little soul. Meet Sam, my darling "Faux Havana Brown" Cat, who was diagnosed with Feline Breast Cancer June 2006. I was told she had six weeks to live; it's now New Years 2007; Sam has bravely endured 7   more...chemo treatments, each entailing an all-day car trip to the University. Here she is playing in her fenced back yard, handling her harness and rope like a pro. If you are considering teaching your cat to be outside on a leash, you may want to see this. Sam, my Black Cat, outside on her harness and leash, savoring the summer breezes, warm cement, and neighborhood noises. When she was younger she'd try to get off the leash, and succeeded a few times.   more... Now that she's older, that doesn't happen so often.
She gets "crabby" staying in the house all the time: fights with the other cat or does naughty things around the house trying to get attention. These days I put her outside when I notice she's getting restive.

She's sleepy and in a little discomfort from a sore under her chin caused by a side reaction from the carboplatins. Sam the Black Cat rides to the university for her Seventh cancer chemo treatment, on the day before her Eleventh birthday. She is Very good in the car and considering this is a 2-1/2 hour trip, upgrade   more..."good in the car" to "excellent"!
She loves to look out the window; people in passing cars wave to her. When you see her head pop up out of the camera frame, she's watching some kids watching Her, from another car.
Sam has Feline Mammary Adenocarcinoma, has had the original lump removed, and so far has outlived her vet's original prognosis of 6 weeks back in mid-July 2006. Sam is doing very well, the residual cancerous lumps are gone. She likes to ride in the car and look out the window.
