As many have probably already heard Mae's character in the upcoming sereis Bionic Woman will be getting recasted. Sad to hear I was really looking forward to seeing Mae in another tv show.

Mae Whitman, who was to play Jaime Sommers’ younger sister, Becca, is no longer listed as a part of the cast on the official NBC website. In addition, the trailer on the official NBC site has been recut, completely eliminating Jaime’s younger sister. (Fortunately, it also includes some new clips, so check it out!)

TV Guide’s Mike Ausiello confirms in a not-quite-exclusive (considering this was posted last night at BW.com) that Whitman is out, and seems to imply in his posting that higher-ups didn’t want the sister to be deaf. Casting sides that were released on June 26 do not have the disability; however, these sides are the same ones that were distributed when Mae Whitman was cast earlier this year."  less
