Ola, My name Jack Henriquez I am a Tampa Florida native earlier this year when my older and best friend died it was a rough time for me I have always thought that he was gonna be there he was special   more...to me my younger brother and I are all that's left of my family with my Dad and Mom and sister all gone I am a musician and father of 2 beautiful children 6 and 11 also my beautiful wife Renee 2 cat and 1 dog we live in central Florida about 45 minutes from Disney World in Brandon just east of downtown Tampa gigs have been slow and money is tight sometimes our mortgage is late and bills keep coming in sometimes I wonder how we are gonna continue but we have so much love for each other thats are strength my grandmother always said "my grapes are bitter but there mine" I am a Hispanic american that means I was born here but I am Latino I love to cook Cuban food in fact besides music that's my passion my wife doesn't cook so I do food shopping I guess watching my Mom make a little feed a lot of people has stuck with me all these years. I started playing and singing music when I was 5 and never stopped I still do it today I can't imagine life without music it keeps me normal by purging my emotions and makes me a few bucks but it is who I am I have seen good times and bad times I know there are good people and bad people I tell my kids to lead by example always listen to others but make up your own mind. I guess I should not complain after all if you measure riches by the amount of love we share we are very wealthy the rest will come in its own time so far so good I am a Hispanic American from Tampa Florida and proud to be Spanish there is no shame in respecting those who have come before you my father was a good honest man who worked hard everyday to feed his family never taking a short cut he gave and accordion when I was 5 we would sit after supper him in painters whites singing "lady of Spain I adore you" he was my world its not easy for me to right this I love Dad Mom was so loving she showed me how to pick melons and to cook and choose friends I only hope that you who have your mom here on this earth treasure them while there here many Christmas's she and dad went without so we would have Christmas for 47 years they were our rock my older brother Ronnie was special personality one that shined bright people just loved him he was my best friend we shared the same room growing up he showed how to be a man a too be noticed lessons I'll never forget and when he died earlier this year part of me died too the kid side singing for him at his wake was hardest thing I have ever done my older sister passed to young as well she was my protector she was so beautiful so strong so prefect to me always believing that I would make it big in music I really miss her my younger brother Robert and I still cry together every Noche Buena "Xmas eve" a very special time for Cubans in Tampa where we come from I marinate a Lechon "a pork shoulder" for days in a special mojo and cook it slow and low temp for a long time we take our food serious we latinos I once asked my mom watch she put it her food that made it so good she simply said love my kids know this story too its a way of life for me so you see I have pain sometimes I cry but I live for those who have come before me.
