office, and then comparing him and looking at the Greatest President of

The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the
power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life.
And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are
still at issue around the globe — the belief that the rights of man come

We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let
the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that
the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans — born in
this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace,

slow undoing of those human rights to which this Nation has always

Kennedy and his wife "Jackie" were very young in comparison to earlier
Presidents and first ladies, and were both extraordinarily   more...popular in
ways more common to pop singers and movie stars than politicians,
influencing fashion trends and becoming the subjects of numerous
photo spreads in popular magazines.

The Kennedys brought new life and vigor – a favorite word of Kennedy –

of the Kennedys' two young children, Caroline and John Jr. (who came

established a preschool, swimming pool and tree house. Jackie did not
like the children to be photographed, and during her frequent absences

probably the most famous of the children, and especially John Jr., after he was photographed playing underneath the President’s desk.

The President was closely tied to popular culture. Things such
as "Twisting at the White House" and "Camelot" (the popular Broadway
play) were part of the JFK culture. Vaughn Meader's "First Family"
comedy album – an album parodying the President, First Lady, their
family and administration – sold about 4 million copies. On May 19,
1962, Marilyn Monroe sang for the president at a large birthday party in

Although they had their troubles, fall outs and affairs. John and Jackie
are to this day remembered as twin symbols of courage and strenght.

I'd like to add that at the   more...time of Jack's death the pair lost a newborn
just over 3 months earlier & he was very instrumental in helping Jackie
cope with the loss. the two bonded and became closer as a couple.
It could have been 8 full years of President John F.Kennedy & the
beautiful & strong First Lady Jacqueline at his side. Then probably 4-8
more with Bobby as Pres. Instead America/USA people got scoundrels. JFK = America's last truly great President.
