On the night of recording this (Friday 18th of July 2008) I had been playing about making stuff up at random for a couple of hours when I finally decided to record myself. I had only intended to record   more...for a few minutes, but before I realized it I had recorded a full tape (60 minutes). In these videos I've edited the 60 minute video down into 4 short videos where I believe the most interesting sounds can be found.

I took piano lessons for a year some 5 years ago, but then got too busy to continue because of school. I carried on playing about with the piano every now and then making up stuff at random as a way to relax. Up until the time of making these videos I had never recorded myself playing.

Back in September (2007), I road from my home to a local lake in another valley around 22 KM (13.7 Miles Approx) cycling up and down mountain roads. I videoed as much as I could as I went along. Hard Drives just can’t be trusted!! They are unpredictable, a HD can run for 20 years or just 20 seconds, you just don’t know! Everyone should always Back-up anything of importance; all my documents are   more...backed-up onto a separate 200 GB HD and all my Video is also recorded twice onto DVD’s both copies kept in separate dry places. Peter and I leant the hard way; don’t let the same thing happen to you!

My friend Rafa and I take you with us on our visit to a near by cave where I live. I found the cave with other friends, at the very top of the mountain behind   more...where I live, about 10 years ago. We were very lucky to find it in the first place, as the cave has a small entrance and is covered by vegetation, only one of us noticed it out of the corner of his eyes, the rest of us had walked right past it! When we entered it for the first time we found a big surprise inside that I will tell you about in the video ;-) Enjoy \^^/  less

Back in March of 2008 I stayed at a friend’s student flat in the Spanish city of Valencia for a few days during the biggest festival of the year for the city, Las Fallas (The Fallas). This gave me the chance to see and video both the Fallas and their burning (in video 2of2) later on the 19th of the month (I had never seen the burning before). I had a lot of fun doing this and I hope you enjoy watching these videos :)

Las Fallas (The Fallas), also known as “fiestas josefinas” in castellan or “festes de Sant Josep” in the local dialect from Catalan Valenciano, are celebrated in several towns and cities throughout the Velancian community of Spain, although The Fallas festival that takes place in the city of Valencia is by far the biggest.

Some Background
.
The Festival takes place from the 14th to the 19th of March and is held in honor of San José, the patron saint of the carpenters. The Fallas are artistic sculptures of known people with other elements incorporated around them; they often represent political/social statements about things in the Valencian community and Spain, which is why they are burnt on the last day of the festival as a way of symbolizing the action of getting rid of these unwanted sides of society.

The Fallas began in medieval times, simple from the carpenters of the city having a day of the year where they could take out into the streets and burn any left other rubbish from there carpenter work. Other time it has evolved until the present day where hundreds of Fallas are built each year (a total of 386 in 2007). Today The Fallas are a mayor event and a very important touristic attraction to the city of Valencia and Spain.
