Dublin Shell to Sea escalated its campaign against Shell’s command centre at Corrib house on Leeson Street with a blockade of all three entrances. After two hours only four Shell employees had been pushed   more...through the blockade by the large force of Gardai on hand.

The action was called to "highlight the incredible theft of our natural resources that totals 51 billion euros in the Corrib field alone" while "each winter, up to 3,000 people die prematurely every year from fuel poverty". Upwards of 45 protesters had assembled with Shell being protected by around 30 Gardai and a number of private security.

Police took their video equipment,   more...cell phones, hard drive and notes about protests planned for next week's Republican National Convention.

Aggresive protesters ,put a flag on the building ,marked - BONUS - that is the flag of cheap food stores in ICeland owned by Jon Asgeir Johannesson ,the owner of the other media in Iceland, Channel 2 ( www.stod2.is )
People are getting very angry at the goverment and the Icelandic central bank .
Eggs and tomatos where where used to hit the paeliement building.

On reviewing the video for the umpteenth time, I see that Mr. Coles had them pegged as police fro the very beginning. From almost his first words he calls them "Cops" as he tries to order them   more...back to "their own lines".

"Police said the three were told to monitor protesters who were not peacefully demonstrating to prevent any violent incidents, but they were called out as undercover agents when they refused to throw objects." To which I say "Bullshit". They were caught out because they approached a peaceful line of protesters in an aggressive manner, while carrying weapons and refused to back down. They were there to cause trouble and that is what they were prevented from doing.

Continuous lies in the face of ample evidence only proves that the Quebec police are liars and were attempting to us provokation to incite violence.

I find it very likely that they other "violence" at the protests was very likely caused by the same tactics.

A retired Ottawa police officer who was formerly in charge of overseeing demonstrations for the force said he questions who the masked men really are, after viewing the video: "Were they legitimate protesters? I don't think so," said Doug Kirkland.

"Well, if they weren't police, I think they might well have been working in the best interests of police."

He added that if the situation was as it appeared, he did not approve of the tactic. "It's pretty close to baiting," he said

The protest legal aid committee, however, received no report from authorities of their arrests, lending further credence to allegations the two were not genuine protesters. "Yes, these were definitely agent provocateurs, cops, and legal folks have no record of these supposed arrests," said Peoples Global Action (PGA) spokesperson John Hollingsworth at the Indie Media Centre.  less

He got known and the police arrested him.,
He had a fine or prison sentence on him since he as protesting the Karahnjukur damn project.
People attacke the police station tonight and broke windows and the front door.
Then they where peppersprayed and the police got the out - and stood outside in full riot gear .
People threw eggs at the police.
And a couple of hours later - the prisoner was let go .
A unknown man payed his fine - and told the guy in prison ,that if he would not accept that he payed the fine - then people would get hurt.
The guy accepted - and told people outside - that next - it would be revolution.  less

<b>One Maryland county takes tough tack on vaccinations</b>

For the parents that converged on a courthouse in Prince George's County, Md., on Saturday morning, the choice seemed clear: Vaccinate   more...your kids or go to jail.

In fact, there are exemptions for medical or religious reasons in the state of Maryland. But few parents standing in lines that stretched down the sidewalk outside the county courthouse said they were aware of them.

Flanked by protesters and television crews, parents said they just wanted to sort out immunizations, so their kids could go back to school – and they could avoid penalties of up to 10 days in jail and $50 a day in fines.

"I've got too many children to raise to go to jail," says Remy Durham, who cares for her nephew, Lamonte Hyter, along with seven other children.

All states require that children be immunized from some childhood diseases, but the crackdown in Prince George's County has attracted international attention.

"We've had calls and e-mail from all over the country, especially the Midwest, as well as England, Germany, and Poland," says Glenn Ivey, state's attorney in Prince George's County, in a phone interview.

A lot of the uproar over the county's new approach to this issue was fueled by misinformation, he said – especially websites that said "we were going to start arresting people." One critic "called me a jackbooted representative of a United Nations, international pharmaceutical conspiracy," he says.

In fact, no decision has been made yet on what steps to take next, and it was never intended to scare people, he says. He's boiled his answer to critics down to one line: "It's about getting kids back in school, not to put parents in jail," he said.

By the start of the 2007 school year, more than 2,800 children in Prince George's County were not in compliance with state mandates on immunizations. The school board asked the courts to help by setting up a date for parents to either have their children vaccinated on site or provide evidence that they were in compliance with the law.  less

On May the 1st the Pillar of Shame, dubbed 'nobel prize of injustice', was set up for good in Belém, capital of the nothern state of Pará, where the Eldorado massacre had taken place in connection with a land occupation.
