Another genius idea

In a severe blow to the Bush administration the US Supreme Court ruled that suspects being held at Guantanamo Bay have rights under the US Constitution to challenge their detention in civilian courts.   more...Ruling 5 to 4 the court concluded that the US government was violating the rights of prisoners being held indefinitely at the US naval base in Cuba. The ruling could resurrect detainee lawsuits that federal judges in Washington postponed, pending the outcome of the high court case. It remains unclear if this ruling, unlike the first two, would lead to prompt hearings for the detainees, some of whom have been held for more than 6 years.  less

President Obama has completely swung from the rule of law in a speech where he emphasized the rule of law. This is a real danger to everyone! Our Constitution, the very document the president has sworn   more...to defend (U.S. Const. Art. V, Sec 3), does NOT allow for such unlawful detentions to prevent future-crime. It is IMPERATIVE that all of you contact your State congressman & representatives to OPPOSE this upcoming legislation - don't ASK them to oppose it; TELL them. Remember, they are supposed to represent YOU, so speak up!
If such legislation is passed anyone who opposes the government can/will be labeled an extremist/terrorist (government officials use these nondescript terms interchangeably) and can/will be imprisoned without an indictment, without charges, without a trial, without a sentence; basically without any due process at all.
