Joe Rudy, 28, and Chris Russo, 29, have been charged with disorderly conduct, after prosecutors there learned of the hoax on YouTube, where they actually showed us how they did it - red flares, helium   more...balloons and fishing line. But UFO researchers stepped in originally and reported on this case, and network television - UFO Hunters - carried a segment on it.

Were they “exposing pseudoscience” as they claimed or merely exposing their desire to appear superior to those who they believe are afflicted with the “sickness of belief”?
I don’t suppose it matters as it seems all they’ve really exposed is their naivety by confessing to creating a potential fire hazard and by doing so making themselves culpable to the charges they subsequently face.

Second, there’s the Newsnight (BBC) and their report on UFO sightings - and crop circles, featuring a rare interview with Doug Bower, who along with his friend Dave hoaxed many crop circles in the UK and are generally credited by the UK media with hoaxing the vast majority (if not all) of the early crop circles with wooden boards and wire eyelets attached to their caps.....

Joe McGonagle - MoD UFO File Release

The third video clip is of Mr McGonagle from Goldenhill was one of the members of the public who pressured the MOD via FoIA requests (prior to this release) as he speaks of the release (audio).
"Since the Freedom of Information Act was introduced, three of us put together £1,800 to pay for FOI requests....We made full use of the act. We have been trying to get the MoD to release this information, but they have always refused, on the grounds that it would take too much work.....The pressure has increased on the MoD because of all the FOI requests they have received..... Between the three of us we have filed dozens and dozens of requests for information about UFOs.....We have probably filed between 120 and 150 FOI requests between us in three years."
The files, which have been transferred by the MoD to the National Archives, also contain briefing papers for a House of Lords debate about UFOs in 1979.

MOD Disclosure On, “Have I Got News for You”
