Irony

Like wind through the trees
Our friendship refreshes me
Whispering “I’m here”

With magical sound
Your words fall not on deaf ears
But into my heart
  more...
Breath tickles my neck
As you sneak up behind me
To say, “I love you”

Watch with envy as
Birds take flight into blue skies
to eternity

With two coats of red
And a smooth glide of the brush
I polish my toes

Hoping for the truth
I keep my thoughts to myself
Drowning in silence

Quiet as a mouse
The refridgerator tempts
“I have cho-co-late”

Thanks for inspiring me! A haiku is Japanese poetry, 3 lines consisting of 5, then 7, and finally 5 syllables.
