Norfolk was host to one of the biggest showbiz events in our region to celebrate the achievements of Cromer Based promotion Agency, Amber Models UK. Top UK glamour models, fashion experts and recent Hollywood   more...actresses gathered at Constantia Cottage Restaurant in East Runton to mark this extraordinary occasion.

Amber Models was founded a few years ago by Andreas Yiasimi, former front man of world music band 'The Constantia Brothers' "I had no idea that we would reach this favourable stage when I decided to start the agency off" explained Andreas "It was a desire to genuinely help artists and models in our area after realising there was a call for it, I'm delighted to be here today representing all these talented girls and boys. This alone is an achievement in itself that hopefully will push Norfolk in the forefront of a very tough industry"

The evening was a glamorous affair that had all the ingredients of a 'London Award Ceremony' complete with world press photographers and a film crew from Norwich School Of Art and Design. The students were given a golden opportunity to cover the major event when they approached Amber Models asking for an actress involving a project. "It was a pleasure to give this assignment to the boys" said Andreas "I have seen some of their work and I was very impressed. The people behind the scenes are just as important, we could be looking at future UK filmmakers here, it's all about giving people a chance if they deserve it"

The wind swept North Norfolk coast didn't dampen spirits and all the models turned on the style for the awaiting media. A spectacular display of ball-gowns and cocktail dresses graced the venues entrance and set the mood for the rest of the night. Security had to be tightened after the event was leaked in an article in the National Press so NG security from Norwich was drafted in to control the surrounding area three hours before the launch.

One of the first to arrive was Hollywood's new sweetheart Melita Morgan from Norwich that has just landed a leading role in a film directed by the great Harmony Korine titled 'Mister Lonely' Melita turned heads with a sexy dress sponsored by Love Couture of Norwich. "I'm here to support our up and coming models and actresses in Norfolk" said Melita "It's a wonderful thing to have a base right here on our doorstep, I'll be organising an open day in the New Year along side Amber Models where models can have a one on one chat with me about what they want to do"

Sunday Sports girl, Polly Guy, turned up the heat with a revealing dress sponsored by Babushka in Norwich. "It's fantastic to be a part of this launch" said Polly "It's unusual to have fashion models, Hollywood actresses and glamour girls all from one promotional outfit, it's about time the starchy stereotype image in modelling was smashed! I would love to try my hand in acting, perhaps as a James Bond girl or to appear in one of our British soaps"

The evening wouldn't have been complete without Rebecca Richardson from North Walsham that clinched the prestigious MIss Norwich title this year. Rebecca surprised everyone by turning up with her crown and an amazing dress designed by her mother! "It's my privilege to be representing our region and Amber Models tonight" said Rebecca "It's every girls dream to win a major competition and I'm enjoying every minute of it. It's very important to make the most of something like this and I'm willing to share my title by advising other models that are thinking of entering a pageant competition" Miss Norwich has been sponsored by 'Love Couture' of Norwich and 'After Dusk' in Norfolk.

Deborah Ann Harry (born July 1, 1945, in Miami, Florida) is a Grammy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated musician most famous for being the lead singer for the punk rock/new wave band Blondie. Following her success, she went on to moderate success as a solo artist.
In 1983 Harry teamed up with Giorgio Moroder (with whom she had worked previously on Blondie's "Call Me") on the song "Rush Rush", which was featured in the film Scarface (and later, the Grand Theft Auto III radio station "Flashback FM"). Harry's single "Feel The Spin", produced by John "Jellybean" Benitez, was released in 1985. That song, along with the whole soundtrack to the film Krush Groove, peaked at #5 on the U.S. Dance Charts. The song's "uno dos tres quatro" intro has been sampled on a number of records, including S-Express' 'Theme From S-Express'.

While recording her fourth album in 1992, Harry collaborated with German heavy metal band Die Haut on the track "Don't Cross My Mind", and released the song "Prelude to a Kiss" on the soundtrack to the film of the same name. She also released a cover of "Summertime Blues" from the soundtrack to the film That Night in Australia.

In the mid-1990s, Harry teamed up with NYC avant-garde jazz ensemble The Jazz Passengers. Between 1994 and 1998 she was a permanent member of the troupe, touring North America and Europe. She was a featured vocalist on their 1994 album In Love singing the track "Dog In Sand". The follow-up album, 1997's Individually Twisted, is credited as "The Jazz Passengers featuring Deborah Harry" and Harry sings vocals throughout, teaming up with guest Elvis Costello for a cover of "Doncha Go Way Mad". The album also features a re-recorded version of the song "The Tide Is High". A live album entitled Live In Spain, again featuring Harry on vocals, was released in 1998.

Harry collaborated on a number of other projects with other artists. She featured as vocalist on Talking Heads side project The Heads' 1996 release No Talking Just Head (performing the title track and "Punk Lolita"). She also sings on a cover of "Strawberry Fields" by Argentinian band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. In 1997 she collaborated with Jazz Passenger Bill Ware in his side project Groove Thing, singing lead vocals on the club hit "Command and Obey". Another JP collaboration appeared on the Edgar Allan Poe tribute album Closed On Account of Rabies (1997). Harry also reunited with Blondie keyboardist Jimmy Destri for a cover of Otis Blackwell's "Don't Be Cruel" for the 1995 tribute album Brace Yourself. During this period she also recorded a duet with Robert Jacks entitled "Die Enziger Weg (The Only Way) - Theme from Texas Chainsaw Massacre", although this did not surface until 1999. Likewise, at the end of 1999 Chrysalis Records released a best of her solo recordings entitled Most of All - The Best of Deborah Harry and a remix of "I Want That Man".

Aside from writing and recording material for Blondie, Harry pursued a number of solo projects. She appears on the 2001 Bill Ware album Vibes 4 singing the track 'Me and You' as well as on ex-Police guitarist Andy Summers's album, Peggy's Blue Skylight on the track "Weird Nightmare". A techno cover of Stan Jones' "Ghost Riders in the Sky" was featured on the soundtrack to the film Three Business Men and was available on her website to download. Harry sings on two tracks on Andrea Griminelli's Cinema Italiano project; "Amarcord" and "You'll Come To Me", as well as on a tribute album reinterpreting the music of Harold Arlen, on which she sings the title track "Stormy Weather".
