A new attempt at a 2D animated atomic bomb. Yeah, I know there are good 3D programs out there for making these things, but I haven't had the time to sit down and learn 'em, so I make do with the softwares   more...I already know how to use. But that's part of the challenge. Still, I'm pretty happy with this one, and am thinking of 2D ways to make the fireball/mushroom cap more "billowy", so it has a more cloud-like behavior and look less like the Doorknob of Death.  less

On my front driveway I time-lapse myself painting a carpet green for what will be the floor of the backyard greenscreen stage. The carpet has been primed with two different primers on its underside,   more...which is the surface that will be used for the floor. Of course, I couldn't resist having a little fun in post-production...heh-heh!  less

Here is the overview of the editing software that I use to do all my video compositing. In fact, I used that very software to edit THIS video! I do these vlogs very extemporaneously so what is actually   more...up behind me on the greenscreen was decided upon in the editing phase. This software enables me to work pretty fast and loos, so I can just throw everything into a vlog but the kitchen sink (The kitchen sink being hidden behind the greenscreen canvas).  less

I saw the Marvelous Wonderettes tonight! I am exhausted and a bit sleepy, but that doesn't change how ecstatic I am about the wonder that is that show, and the talent that is LV's very own... Lowe Taylor.

Because we are shooting this movie guerilla style (that's "without permits" to you and me, Russ) it wasn't feasible to do the kinds   more...of foreground miniatures and glass matt paintings Larry likes to do on the set. And we really didn't have a design for the shack yet. So I just had the Actor walk to a certain point in the frame, the rest of which woud be filled with Dimitri's shack and all the fly-ridden detritus around it. Most of the elements I created from scratch in Photoshop, then crudely animated with slow dissolves in iMovie. I composited the elements together in Final Cut Pro. The skulls strewn about the ground are ceramic creations of my own design which I like to re-use as props in such projects whenever possible. I have uploaded a video gallery of those skulls so you can get a better look at 'em. It's called "Project Cranium: SKULLpture by Baron Dixon".
