“Putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save   more...your souls.” (James1:21)

So how do you know you are saved? Do you think you are saved? Don’t you know that “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jer17:9) Test yourselves by the scriptures to see if you are saved.

Most Christians in Western society are not saved. They are not born again. They are not “born of the Spirit, born of the will of God.” (John1:13, 3:6) Born again means “that we may obey Jesus Christ.” (1Pet1:2) Being born again means we are born of the Spirit so that we can obey Jesus Christ. This is how you know you have been born again (come to know God) “by this we know we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.” (1John2:3) “The one who says, “I have come to know Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” (1John2:4) To not obey God’s commandments in the bible (NT and OT) is a sin. “No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in Him and He cannot sin.”(1John3:9) We know that the Spirit of Christ abides in us; if we are obeying what we know is what God wants (the will of God), with all our heart. Jesus says “Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord” will enter the Kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matt7:21) Only those who do what God wants will go to heaven. Christ commands us to abide in Him (John15:4) Christ states that anyone who does not abide in Him will go to hell. (John15:6) Who abides in Christ? “The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him.” (1John3:24) Jesus says that only those who keep His commandments love Him (John14:15, 21, 23, 24, 10) Remember, only those that love Him will go to heaven. ( 1Cor2:9) “He became to all those that obey Him the source of eternal salvation.” (Heb5:9) This verse makes it clear, only those who obey the whole revealed will of God will go to heaven. Only those who obey really have accepted the grace of God by faith and according to His great mercy have been born again. For the grace of God “teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self- controlled, upright and godly lives” (Titus1:11-12)

So are you born again? Is your whole life a sacrifice to the glory of God? (1Cor10:31) are you denying yourself daily, to obey the whole known will of God, or are you living for yourself instead? Don’t you know that “those who are selfishly ambitious” (Rom2:8) have the wrath of God on them? Have you been truly made holy by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus? Don’t you know that “without holiness, no one sees the Lord?” (Heb12:14) Holiness is sinlessness; you must repent of all sin.

Jesus commands us to “repent and believe the gospel.” (Mark1:15) Turn, don’t just confess, but turn from all known sin and cry out to God for mercy! Seek selflessness and be “obedient from the heart” (obey God with everything you’ve got.) Because “you are slaves of the one you obey, either sin resulting in death (hell), or of obedience resulting in righteousness.” (Rom6:15-16) God requires your whole life, as He owns your time, money, and possessions if you are truly born again. (Rom14:7-8) Don’t tempt God by withholding any of your time or life. So “repent or you will likewise perish.” Perish means destroyed. Turn from all your sins, or be destroyed by God. For God will “exterminate sinners from the earth” in His “fury and burning anger.” (Isaiah13:9) God will have mercy on you if you repent. Don’t be proud and not repent because of your “unrepentant heart you are storing up for yourselves, wrath on the day of judgement.” God will “put an end to the arrogance of the proud.” (Is13:11) By your sin you have infinitely offended the living God!

It is by faith through grace that we are saved. But ther  less

The other day, I was trying to recall what it was that started me down the path of free thinking (which ultimately resulted in my leaving Christianity). One thing that did it was my realization that hell   more...could not be real. This video summarizes how I came to this conclusion. It compares the doctrines of free will and eternal punishment, and concludes that they cannot coexist.  less

He was best known for witty inter-religious public debates.
What differentiated Deedat's approach from his contemporaries, apart from eloquence in English language, was that he would not only use references from the Qur'an and the Hadith, but also use his intensive knowledge of the Bible.

What exactly is faith? Given the existence of thousands of mutually contradictory faiths over the centuries, how can anyone possibly know that theirs   more...is correct, unless they have corroborative evidence? And if they have convincing evidence, what need is there for faith?  less
