chopin fantasie impromptu, very impromptu!

A speedpainting in photoshop. I used one brush for pretty much the whole thing. At the end I changed the brush to a different one for a few spots in the background. For that part I showed my work area   more...since a lot of people have asked what I'm doing. As you can see, there's nothing fancy. One layer, one brush. The thing I did at the very end though was to duplicate the layer, gaussian blur it, and change it to Soft Light. I find this creates a nice effect in portraits.

Born on 5th January 1869 in Kraków to the family of a sculptor. His relatives raised him from 1880. He studied at St. Anne's Grammar School, where he made friends with Józef Mehoffer, Lucjan Rydel, Stanislaw Estreich. In 1887 he commenced his study of painting at the Fine Arts School in Kraków, where Jan Matejko was the principal.  less
