7-16-2007 - The day after the Typhoon passed by Boracay way out at sea. A lot of wind and rain but no damage, other than rain damage.

Boracay's most recognizable attraction is this oddly shaped volcanic formation topped by a statue of the Virgin Mary, called the "Willy's Rock", sculptured by the ebb and flow of tide and time.   more...Indeed Willy's Rock remains the most photographed spot on Boracay's beach.

In Boracays "D'Mall" area there is a climbing wall known as "D'Wall", I've only ever done wall climbing once before and I enjoyed it so of course I just had to give this a go.

Here's some video of our room in the Asya Boracay. The hotel has 3 room types, Deluxe, Courtyard and Villa. When I 1st emailed the hotel I was trying to get a Deluxe room, cause they were cheaper but   more...they were sold out, but they offered me a good deal on the Courtyard Suite rooms. So the room you see here is their Courtyard Suite. Also some footage down in their actual courtyard and swimming pool area.

Went for a sailing trip with a group called the Red Pirates for five hours total I think we ended up doing.

Was a great day and being on a sail boat rather than a motor boat was awesome, now noise from   more...a motor, just the wind and the sun. Although the wind did prevent us from sailing to the other side of the island we still had a great time. Hopefully if/when I go back there I will certainly go sailing with the Pirates again and hopefully the wind conditions will be just right.

We had a BBQ also, which was simply delicious, these guys don't just know how to sail well but they can cook a mean meal too.

Cost of renting the boat was 500 peso per hour
The BBQ cost us 1000 peso for chicken, pork, fish, rice, banana and mango for 5 people.

We went swimming at Asya's Private Cove in the evening of the 12th. Mainly cuz it was part of the hotels package so I wanted to make sure I got what I paid for, haha. But it was still great, nice to have   more...the choice between White Beach and some place more private and to get away from all the vendors trying to sell sunglasses and boat trips. But swimming at White Beach is still an awesome experience in itslef.

On the 12th April 2008 we went to spend 3 nights on the island of Boracay.

The last time I was on Boracay was about 10 years ago, from the few memories I have of then I can tell a lot has changed, there   more...certainly wasn't as many hotels back then i'm certain.


This video shows us being picked up at the "Fairways Welcome Center" in Caticlan and the speed boat ride to Boracay, then arriving at our hotel.
