Este é um voo que faço muitas vezes. 30 anos que faço este voo, Vou sempre com a tristeza de deixar um pouco de mim para trás, mas penso na alegria do voltar. Algures para onde voe, por muito ou pouco tempo, a maior alegria que tenho é, voltar ao ponto de partida. Chegar ao aeroporto e ver aquele avião da SATA. O "nosso" avião. A alegria do regresso, anula o receio da viagem. Voamos no "nosso" avião, estou com os meus conterrâneos. Pessoas com pressa de chegar a casa. Lá no alto junto ás nuvens, vimos o território continental português e europeu, cada vez mais para trás. estão 200 pessoas, sós no atlântico, entre o mar e céu, entre a europa e a américa. chora uma criança, um riso, estamos a chegar. Meia hora antes da aterragem, vimos as ilhas. O recorte da costa, o mar branco batido nas pedras, as montanhas verdes, o nevoeiro nas zonas altas, as casas, brancas á beira mar. No nosso íntimo, ouvimos o brado desta terra, dando as boas vindas a casa. Nós voltamos. Voltamos sempre.
