Damocles Atari st demo cover disk was captured using TechSmith codec.You can think of it as a very distant relative of GTA but on a much bigger scale.This game was also available on the Amiga.Company:Novagen/Author:Paul   more...Woakes,thier was another game before called Mercenary and Second City both used a much more basic vector engine still vey open ended but this time on one planet only. The other game afther Damocles The Dion Crisis was basicly an updated version but had diffrent objectives and wasn't about saving Eris anymore. For example instead you had to run for election or put PC bill in prison or an other way you could defeat him.The Damocles game consists of nine planets and nineteen moons with over 30+ citys it's huge very open ended,each with thier own bus and taxi service timetable and routes.Thier also many diffrent objects and buldings to find and explore.Some building have lifts as well as huge underground complexs.Also thier are many vehicles some for planet side and some for intersteller travel or you could use the teleporters there's normaly one on each planet apart from some moons,you cold also buy/trade or sell many diffrent objects as well as the vehicles too.And thier where many diffrent characters you could interact with.Your main task in Damocles is to stop the giant comet Damocles crashing into the planet Eris not a easy task. In total i think thier was something like 22 diffrent ways of stoping the comet all of them not easy that's not inculding the other missions on the seprate mission disks but it can be done.Running on 1mb of ram and about 1.6mhz this is a coding master peace.Their was also a 99.9% complete PC version but this got canned right at the very last moment.You can also find a fan site here with more information (There's no abandonware here)
