Fashion Model Falls in Hole on Runway

The BFC Tent at London Fashion week Sunday (16SEP07) played host to Gareth Pugh's Spring-Summer 2008 runway Show which was far from conventional and full of experimentation. The show, which was greeted   more...with applause from the packed audience, showcased the London-based designer's flare for the unusual which is quickly becoming his trademark. Designs had a gothic feel with leather patchworks with long straps of cloth hanging off, mini-skirts, torn trousers and long coats. There were also furs and silver chains. Speaking to AP Entertainment after the show the English designer attempted to describe the collection which was a mish-mash of ideas. "Everything that I do in a work in progress, so this may seem as though it is a final result but it kind of informs what I'll be doing next season. Everything melts into each other. It wasn't necessarily me thinking 'this season I am going to do it about India,' it's never that contrived. If I've got to do this for a long time I want it to be interesting and beneficial for me. As long as I can progress with it then that is important, I don't particularly want to get stuck in a rut, so that is why it is important for me to keep trying different things.
