They have been busy interviewing Americans about their choice for candidates. Al Jazeera English channel is also running promos promising “an in depth coverage of the US presidential elections.”

There is a buzz about Obama that his victory would revive America’s sinking image abroad. Many Arabs believe that Obama’s ethnicity and background gives him a kinder understanding of third world countries. On the other hand, on an interview on Al Arabiya channel a Saudi businessman preferred Hillary, because he hoped she’d make Bill her Middle East emissary. “Obama would be a novice at navigating the dangerous Middle East quagmire,” according to him.  less
