Grandma will talk when a hand approaches her head. This means she wants to be petted. When she is happy she wags her tail, or what is left of it. When we first got Grandma, her tail was badly infected   more...and festering. It had to be removed.

Meet Hazel (Calico) and Sylvia (Tuxedo) two young kittens now available for adoption. Acadiana Humane Society took these adorable sisters in when they were just tiny orphaned babies. Michelle bottle fed   more...them and gave them lots of TLC. They are now about 8 weeks old, up to date on shots, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed, and looking for their new homes!  less

We have a waiting list of people wanting to adopt a rescued Guinea Pig. I told the local animal control that I wanted them to let me know the next time they had a Guinea Pig surrendered. On Friday, March   more...28, 2008 I got a phone call to come and get 24 Guinea Pigs that someone was at the pound surrendering. I told her I did not think I had enough cages. But, that I would look and see what I had before I went. They called back a few minutes later and said that someone took 5, so there was only 19 left. After setting up cages, we went and picked them up. This photo was taken when we were loaded up and ready to leave animal control. When we got home we counted them, and found we had 23 Guinea Pigs, as a litter had been born while in the pound. They will all be available for adoption soon.  less

Victor, one of our adoptable foster cats, loves to sit in the window and look outside. He spent a lot of time watching the rain today.

Mandy, one of our foster kittens, is very friendly with just about any kind of animal. She loves rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and ferrets. This is Daisy. A friend rescued her from Lafayette Animal Control.and called us to see if we could take care of her and find her a home. I was holding her today, when I noticed she makes a lot of noise   more...when I pet her across her left side. When I pet her along the back of her head and neck, she is quiet. But, when I touch the area where I point to near the end of this video, she always makes noise. I'm wondering if there is something wrong with her.  less

Our dream of a hurricane proof Cat Shelter is finally becoming a reality! On Monday, November 5, 2007, the concrete foundation was poured, spread, and smoothed out to dry.

On Saturday, October 6, 2007, we set up Molly in the Lafayette Petsmart Luv-A-Pet Center. We rescued her from the local animal control and got her fully vetted. She is looking for a new home.

I took this video today when we set up Snickers in Luv-A-Pet in the Petsmart in Lafayette, LA. We rescued Snickers from death row at the Roicy Duhon Animal Control several months ago. We got her fully   more...vetted and ready for adoption. Snickers is a sweet girl.  less
