Stodgy, old-school financial paper The Wall Street Journal is finally joining the Web 2.0 world, reworking its web site to offer social networking features for its rich   more...middle-aged WASP demographic.

Beginning tomorrow, America’s east coast business elite will be able to comment on stories, create discussion groups, and ask each other for business advice. Paying subscribers will create profiles detailing their names, job details and favorite Jonas Brother. It will be just like Facebook, except you’ll have to pay for it.

Alan Murray, deputy managing editor, told the Associate Press that by embracing social networking tools, the Journal hopes it can attract more people to its site for longer stays.

The newspaper hopes that use of real names in discussions will increase the quality of discussions, as opposed to other sites that allow users to employ pseudonyms. How the site intends to ensure that users will give their real names is as much of a mystery as why they use engraved portraits in their paper instead of that newfangled curiosity, the photograph.  less

It wouldn't be a week without some ranting from me.

My work, both the written material and my more widely-known video productions, has gotten widespread television, print and internet coverage throughout the current political election cycle.

The coverage   more...has been unexpected, humbling, and but for one exception, unsought.

Some have attempted to besmirch myself or my work. The Times characterized some of the content of my videos as 'widely debunked.' I have been portrayed in any number of suspect and unflattering ways.

And to that stilted coverage I say: So what. Hasn't anything changed on my end and I'm going to keep doing what I do, which is giving my audience what they want: Serious, hard-hitting, passionate information.

Rush Limbaugh, a man whom I credit my brother John for turning me on to over the years, said it best. Don't rely on anyone to build you up (like the mainstream media) and then they are not capable of tearing you down, either. You have to hold firm to your convictions, no matter what. If you choose not to do so, then you end up the way Barack Obama is now on the issue of Iraq: Compromised, appearing untrustworthy and diminished.

I won't do that, won't cede my believes because it's convenient or lucrative to do so.

I won't do that to myself, and I won't do that to you, the reader or viewer, either.

Some don't like that I have compared Obama to Hitler, or David Koresh.

Too bad.

There is a difference between making an analogy between two figures and saying that one person is the other. If you don't understand that difference, that is not my problem. Educate yourself, as I have done for myself. Learn the difference between what it means to have skill in the arts of debate, rhetoric & presentation and what ignorance is.

I know what I'm doing when I write what I do and when I make these videos. There's a reason why the New York Times and the other outlets found me and they didn't approach others, people with far more views than my videos have or who are regarded more highly than I am in certain circles.

Just remember that.

I stand by everything I have put in these videos. All of it, in every video. You might not want to hear that but, again, that is not my concern. Politics, as they say, ain't beanbag. I'm not here to get anyone's approval; I am here to win and to see justice done.

And I will use every arrow in my large quiver for that purpose.

The video discusses the media spots for my work and then segues into some discussion of PUMAs and takes a look at some pictures of Barack Obama. Some of the pictures are Photoshopped, some are not. It's not hard to tell the difference.

Finally, we have some words about Obama and some thoughts directed to my fellow Americans.

According to New York states comptroller, Thomas DiNapoli, around 40,000 jobs will be eliminated in the securities industry. These job cuts are a said to be a direct result of the economic crisis in   more...the financial industry.
He also believes that for every one job eliminated on Wall Street, three more jobs in different sectors will be eliminated. NY’s bonuses might decrease by 50%, just like it did after the attacks on the World Trade Center.
In August, New York’s unemployment rate increased to 5.6%.  less
