This is a little intro into my world....or I guess my obsession!!!

It's a beautiful day for ducks and turtles and other species of wildlife here at the lake while releasing Bazil the temporarily adopted turtle. He lives next to homes of animal lovers that surround the   more...lake and ducks are fed regularly here at his site of release so he'll be able to find his own and or be fed as he moseys along to find his original family or adopts one of his own. He's at the age to be seeking a mate so we wished him good luck and off he went looking strong and good. It leaves us with a feeling of warmth one cannot describe to be able to do this. I come with 8 years experience and my husband has 1 year and he still hasn't stopped talking about how good it feels to drive by Atascadero every day on his way to work and to know that Bazil is home. He believes me when I say that we are not to capture those whom already know nature. They could never rest and be happy with us because nature is so much better of a mother.  less

This is Chico, and he is my Painted Turtle. He is probably about 5 months old, I think. He is much, much bigger than he was when I first got him, and hes a lot of fun. I took the gravel and sand out   more...of his tank, because they just kept the water dirty. About a week after I put the gravel in his tank he started picking pieces up and carrying them around the tank, so I removed it. Probably wouldn't be good for him to eat a piece of gravel. :P  less

This is Chico. I found out that he is actually a Painted Turtle, and not a Red-Bellied Turtle. This is after I changed from sand to gravel in the bottom of his tank. Its a few months old.

After shaving his head and painting himself green, this kid should go on a diet before he's ready to become a true ninja turtle.
