Mozart is being pumped out of the strip joint

It is 9:30 a.m.
I try to pacify my face, knowing
why I travel to third world countries.

Two people looking like life’s failures are looking at a map.
I ask if they need help.
They say ‘no thank you’, in Oxford English.

At the store I find my teacher called in sick.
I do a couple of errands and take the bus home.
At the bus stand there is an empty seat.
The woman next to it motions me to sit down.

I fall into that love.
