I didn't know who Nanni Moretti was at the time but I actually met him when I was on a student voluntary project in the Lazio Region of Italy. He came to dinner to meet everyone working on the project   more...(restoring an old castle in Roviano) and later that week after he left we watched his movie "Caro Diario". To be honest I didnt remember much of the movie apart from this scene due to my pretty poor Italian language skills, though I did watch it later with subtitles and thought it was really good.
About meeting Nanni Moretti, well, he seemed like a decent man, and interested in all the young (mostly western European) volunteers. How we all managed the work together and get along despite everyone speaking a different language (more or less).  less
