Muslims are confused with the two Testaments in the Bible, and believe one contradicts, or abrogates the other. As Christians we believe both Testaments (or Covenants) are authoritative. The Old Testament,   more...written between 1400 BC and 400 BC lays a foundation, preparing the world for the coming of the Messiah (whom we and Muslims know as Jesus Christ). The New Testament, written in the 1st century AD is the fulfillment of everything the Old Testament promised, providing us with the story of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, how he died and rose again for our salvation, how the early church was formed, and how, using Jesus as a model, we are to live today. Therefore, we no longer need to go to the Old Testament as a model for how we should live. It is Christ's example, in the New Testament where we now find that model. Furthermore, we don't need any further revelation after the New Testament, and so do not need yet another prophet (such as Muhammad), or a further scripture (such as the Qur'an), especially ones which contradicts so much of what was in the Bible. So, The Old Testament sets the stage for Jesus, all of which was then fulfilled in the New Testament. And that's all we need for today, Jesus and His gospel.  less

This video, which answers objection #2 that the Sabbath is not part of the New Covenant, seeks to dispell this myth. Part 1 of the 5 introduces the biblical requirements for establishing a covenant; for   more...if we do not know how a covenant is established we certainly will have a hard time discerning where it starts & what are its provisions. Other points made are:
1 – That Christ did not destroy the Law, of which the Sabbath is a part. In fact, He clearly taught that was NOT His mission. Christ was a Torah-observant Jew!
2 – That Jesus, rather than eliminating the Sabbath, taught its proper observance; a wasted endeavor if the Sabbath was not going to be part of the New Covenant.
3 – Christ told His disciples to be prayerful of an event that was to come about 40 years after His death & resurrection that this event would NOT occur on the Sabbath day. Why command them to do this if the Sabbath was to be eliminated for Christians at the cross?
4 – That the Luke speaks of the Sabbath day about 30 years after Christ’s death & resurrection and he doesn't refer to it as the "old Sabbath" or "the Sabbath of the Jews."
5 – That the New Testament refers to 84 Sabbaths being kept in the Book of Acts by the Apostles and other ‘saved by grace‘ Christians. Seems the Apostles were Sabbath keepers!
6 – That Mary (Miriam), Jesus own mother, was observing the Sabbath day "according to the commandment" after Christ shed His blood and established the New Covenant.  less
