This film and book discuss the CIA's experimentation with using electric shock to break people down. Yet, the more important point of these works is that a broader "shock" to the systems of   more...a people as a whole, like say 9/11, can have the kind of impact the CIA was searching for in their tests, one that breaks down a whole society and makes them so fearful they are open to nefarious suggestions.

I am sure none of this sound familiar, does it? This is very powerful stuff that can explain how a traumatized society may act, and may just explain to you why a certain former Mayor of New York mentions 9/11 4.75 times per sentence.  less

I was in another photo takin’ mood yesterday (as contrasted to a “video takin’ mood” LOL), so wandered over to the “Crystal Pier Hotel” in Pacific Beach, San Diego, California to see what photo opportunities   more...awaited me.

As a kid, I NEVER enjoyed studyin’ history (there were always MUCH more fun things to be doin’ OUTSIDE!) . . . but I noticed that “old people” always seemed to enjoy history, so YEP. . . now that I’m ONE of the “old people”, I enjoy history! (DUH!!) Who coulda seen THAT potentiality comin’ to fruition!!?? LOL

. . . “anyway” (my MOST used word in life BTW!) . . . for any of you other people who enjoy history . . . Crystal Pier began its life as “Pickering’s Pleasure Pier” in 1927. The pier idea was the brainchild of a former Kansas native, Earl Taylor, and was constructed by Earnest Pickering, as a magnet to draw investors to Pacific Beach to buy property. Around 1904, small residential lots in P.B. sold for only $25!!!, and TODAY it costs $375 per NIGHT to rent one of the beautiful, romantic getaway studio type cottages on Crystal Pier in the summer!!, so you can imagine what residential LOTS go for now in P.B.! (As an FYI . . . For any of you romantics who wanna do somethin’ special for your significant other, here’s the website for the Crystal Pier Hotel & Cottages: http://www.crystalpier.com)

. . . “anyway” . . . back to the brief history . . . In 1983 a big winter storm destroyed about 240 feet of the pier, but in 1987 the City rebuilt that area.

The song I chose for the video is “7 Seconds” by 47 year old Senegal, West African singer Youssou N’ Dour (also featuring singer Neneh Cherry). As online Wikipedia Encyclopedia explains: “Youssou helped develop popular music in Senegal, known in the Wolof language as mbalax, a blend of the country's traditional griot percussion and praise-singing with the Afro-Cuban arrangements and flavors which made the return trip from the Caribbean to West Africa in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s and have flourished in West Africa ever since.”

I took my camcorder along on one of my typical bicycle rides today, just to see how the ride would look when sped up . . . yep, that's the sole purpose of why I made the vid :) . . . I hope the frenetic   more...nature of the resulting video, doesn't make anybody get a headache or make his/her eyes start twitching!

The bike paths I was riding on are in the Pacific Beach and Mission Beach areas of San Diego, California. The "real time" speed I was riding was usually around 18mph, so the sped up version is around 72mph LOL, and the video footage here covers about a 5 mile portion of some of the great bike paths in the area . . .

The song is "Don't Worry Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin. This song was one of THE biggest hits of 1988 . . . I got to thinkin' 'bout it tho' and realized that you'd have to be around 25 years old NOW!!!, to even REMEMBER hearing that song when it first came out!!!! . . . GEEZ, I'm gettin' old!!!! LOL  less

Now I'm right on the coast, check it out.

Finally ......... I love the Pacific ocean, and very sad to heard the News that Luciano Pavarotti was dead on Wednesday 5th, September, 2007......... 1. Funded and fueled the Nazi Party
2. Participated in a massive nationwide scheme to buy up and destroy local electric street car systems and replace them with diesel buses
3. Controls the agenda for cancer treatment, forwarding chemotherapy and discouraging research into prevention and natural cures.
I wasn't aware of how closely involved the Rockefellers were in the funding of the United Nations.
It's fascinating how the organization arose out of thin air with the Rockefellers paying all the bills. Note that the check to pay for the headquarters came from the Rockefeller family owned bank Chase Manhattan.  less
