The light and colours on this November 20th evening were unforgettable...intensifying with each passing minute.

Just a peaceful evening at "my" pier...watching a Harbour Seal...seabirds...and happy people enjoying a Saturday evening by the water...

A few moments from a lovely visit with Elie (cartoonage.de ) this August. I did not end up with much usable footage...so here is just this little video.
We are on the Museum Island...a quite enchanted   more...place of wooded areas, ponds, little running waters...The forest hides sculptures and buildings which hold a splendid collection of modern and eastern art...But as you will see...I am not showing much of the art, just a bit of the atmosphere and glimpses of my charming host...  less

Slide show in honour of my spirited and brave,loving Mom...born at the end of World War One...lived through WWII..in one of the most devastated cities in Germany...married my father an artist 29 years   more...her senior...and after his death,when I was only 5...she managed to retrain in night classes..with me as a latch-key kid...from fine artist...to teacher of art and biology...to provide a more stabel base for our survival...not an easy task...but she did it...

The Ishtar Gate was the eighth gate to the inner city of Babylon. It was constructed in about 575 BC by order of King Nebuchadnezzar II on the north side of the city. Dedicated to the Assyrian goddess   more...Ishtar, the Gate was constructed of blue glazed tiles. Through the gate ran the Processional Way which was lined with walls covered in lions on glazed bricks (about 120 of them). Statues of the gods were paraded through the gate and down the Processional Way each year during the New Year's celebration.

It was originally considered one of the Seven Wonders of the world until, in the 6th century AD, it was replaced with the Lighthouse of Alexandria.  less

On the old Market Square in front St. Petri Cathedral in Bremen, Germany. The St. Petri Dom was started in 1035, so most of its archtecture is in the Romanic style...and only the "late" additions   more...in the Gothic Style.  less
