This is the story. In October 2006 the IRS sent a letter claiming I owed them cash. I assembled relevent documentation to prove they were incorrect and sent it to them a few days later. In December 2006, they sent a letter saying they were going to take a look at what I sent and let me know my fate in 30 days.
