F16 scorches its way round the Fairford skies.

Posted this one on YT ages ago and before they shut me down it triggered some interesting discussions as to the identity of the high wing monoplane, I thought it was a Polish plane but others reckon it   more...was a French one. Any ideas?  less

My first LG Cookie cellphone vid clip upload - with nowt else to do on this rainy day I filmed the TV with my new cellphone the results are not bad. With the plasma screen you don't get the irritating   more...bands scrolling up and down though you have to be careful about seeing your own reflection.  less

Mildenhall static filmed from the back seat of our car as we toured around - Grumman Tracker, F111, Atlantic etc plus dumb comments.

Kicks off with French helo's launching ATMs then the Lockheed Cheyenne zooms along at low-level before we get a glimpse of the Apache prototype - an ungainly unaesthetic machine. One of the world's fastest   more...helo's the Lockheed AH-56 Cheyenne was a two-seat, single-engine, rigid-rotor, compound helicopter with low-mounted, fixed wings and retractable main landing gear. The AH-56A was the design winner of the United States Army's Advanced Aerial Fire Support System program in 1965 to establish a technologically advanced, dedicated attack helicopter. It was armed with a 30 mm cannon in a belly turret and either a 7.62 mm minigun or a 40 mm grenade launcher in a nose turret. It was also capable of being armed with 2.75 inch rockets and TOW missiles. The Cheyenne's compound helicopter design was intended to provide a 212 knot dash capability in order to serve as an armed escort to the Army's transport helicopters.  less

Very good on the visuals but the narration is all over the place. Here we see some scenes form the Spitfire gathering at IWM Duxford and then an aerobatic routine at Biggin Hill with a Corsair. Interesting   more...contrast in sounds from a mix of Merlin and Griffon engines counterpointed by the PW radial of the Corsair.  less

Special clip I filmed at the MAF nearly ten years ago I reckon. Features a single F15C Eagle accompanied by a pair of P51 Mustangs in the 'Heritage Flight'. I love these mixed formations - the sight and   more...sound is breathtaking. It illustrates how large the F15C - in some respects the modern equivalent to the WW2 P51 - actually is.  less
