I attended Folk Fest in Atlanta, Georgia (USA) and participated as an artist. The festival was held August 14, 15, and 16, 2009.

Saturday, August 1, 2009 I participated in an All-Day Art Sale with Karron Denaple and Mavis Stevens. It took place in Buford, Georgia. It was a fun day. LOTS OF HOT SUNSHINE...and SUNSCREEN WAS USED....

Today is July 28, 2009. This would have been Skyler Grace's first birthday if she had lived. My family wanted to remember her on this day with a simple celebration.

I took old, unfinished art that had been around the house since 2005 and recycled it. Made a place for NEW ART....Time to move ahead....

Allyson asked me to paint something for her. I wanted to do something full of color. Something HOPEFUL....
The painting is 22inX48in......on OSB (Oriented Strand Board).........Acrylics and Metallic Acrylics

A painting....inspired by Harriet Powers (1837-1910), an ex-slave who did quilt work. I saw a quilt she had done in the 1890s. I was INSPIRED by her sunshines, sunbursts, heavenly bodies....This is MY   more...ATTEMPT to paint what I saw. Read more about Harriet Powers on Wikipedia.
