It is located in Piazza della Rotonda, a very famous square between the Romans and the tourists full of life all year around.

Inside the Pantheon and then walking out viewing the massive columns and the square outside the Pantheon (Piazza della Rotonda).
The word Pantheon comes from the Greek words "pan" - everything - and "theon" - divine.
Built by Emperor Hadrian, it was the first temple for the common people. Up until that time only priests were allowed into places of worship.

The Pantheon is in remarkable condition considering it's over 2000 years old and cartainly Rome's oldest best kept monument.
Did you know the dome's hole is 9m in diameter, and contrary to some religious tales, the rain does perpetrate through the hole. In fact there is a drain in the marble floor directly beneath the opening in the dome.

The performance was by Nova Amadeus on the 6th January 2009 in the Church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, Rome Italy - only a few short steps around the corner from the Pantheon.
I had goosebumps throughout this unforgettable experience, not even this video can do justice as to how inspirational it was to stand amongst such history and art and then to listen to some of the greatest music from our history...

The Santa Maria Sopra Minerva church is one of Rome's better kept secrets. Built in the 13th Century its richly ordained interior has some exquisite art representing some of the greatest periods and styles of artistic history.

Capitoline hill, overlooking the Roman Forum, was the center of Roman Life and still today remains the seat of the local Municipal Government.
The seat of the US Government "Capitol" has also taken its name from Capitoline Hill.
Just to the left of the Piazza is the Vittorio Emanuele Monument and behind the square is the Roman Forum.

Insane Rome traffic at night in Piazza Venezia, <a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com">Rome Italy </a>. This is one of the craziest "free for all" traffic intersections I've seen. It's impressive that you don't hear much hooting.

Floods Rome Italy, Tiber Island.

The video shows the high flood water level and wreckage from house boats and barges that broke from their moorings due to the <a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com">floods in Rome Italy</a>.

The bridge in the first few frames of the video is the 'Ponte Cestio', it connects The Tiber Island with the Trastevere area.

The hospital on Tiber island (on the upstream side of the island) wasn't effected by the floods but on the downstream side the water was high up the church walls. (You can see this on my other video of the flooding in Rome.) The rescue services were on standby to assist the hospital if levels continued to rise.

Below , on either side of the Tevere (Tiber river) are actually cycling lanes. They were submerged by about 8 meters/yards of water! If you consider that the normal level of the water in the Tiber River (Tevere) is about 1 to 2 meters below the cycling lane!

The video shows The Floods in Rome Italy at the Tiber island(Isola Tiberina). The island has a hospital and church. The church was engulfed by water but the hospital narrowly escaped the floods in Rome.

Below and to the left and right are actually cycling lanes which are submerged by about 8 meters/yards of water! If you consider that the normal level of the water in the Tiber River (Tevere) is about 1 to 2 meters below the cycling lane!

Fratelli d'Italia, l'Italia si è svegliata. Sul capo ha l'elmo di Scipione l'Africano, il vincitore di Cartagine. Dov'è la vittoria? L'Italia ne afferri la chioma. Dio ha infatti concepito la vittoria come schiava di Roma (e delle sue glorie).
Schieriamoci in battaglia (la coorte era un'unità della Legione romana).
Siamo pronti alla morte. L'Italia ci ha chiamati.

Da secoli veniamo calpestati e derisi, perché non siamo un popolo, perché siamo divisi.
Ci accomuni una sola bandiera. Ci leghi un'unica speranza. L'ora di unirci è già suonata.

Uniamoci e amiamoci. L'Unione e l'amore indicano ai popoli le vie segnate dal Signore.
Giuriamo di rendere libera la nostra patria. Se saremo uniti, per Dio, chi riuscirà a sconfiggerci?
Schieriamoci in battaglia. Siamo pronti alla morte. L'Italia ci ha chiamati.

Dalle Alpi alla Sicilia, è come se ogni angolo d'Italia fosse Legnano (qui la lega Lombarda sconfisse, nel 1176, l'imperatore Federico Barbarossa). Ogni nostro compatriota ha il coraggio e il valore di Francesco Ferrucci (fu il difensore della Repubblica di Firenze, assediata nel 1530 dall'imperatore Carlo V). I bambini d'Italia si chiamano tutti Balilla (è il nomignolo di un ragazzo assurto a simbolo della sommossa contro gli austriaci, scoppiata a Genova nel 1746). Ogni campana evoca il suono dei Vespri siciliani (si vuole siano state le campane a chiamare il popolo alla lotta, durante l'insurrezione antifrancese di Palermo, detta dei Vespri siciliani, il 30 marzo 1282).

Le spade dei mercenari, al soldo degli austriaci, sono deboli come giunchi che si piegano.
L'Austria, la potenza che oggi domina nei nostri confini, ha già perduto le penne di quell'aquila che adorna il suo stemma. L'Impero austro-ungarico ha bevuto il sangue dell'Italia. Alleato della Russia, con l'aiuto delle truppe cosacche, l'Impero ha represso nel sangue anche la libertà della Polonia.
Ma tutto quel sangue gli ha bruciato il cuore.
