Remember Super Mario Bros. Frustration World 1? Well I decided to do a fun video parody on World 2-1 of that evil hacked ROM called Super Mario Bros. Forever. This was actually a calm day, you should see how it gets in Summer! The building that appears to the right is the Victor Emmanuel Monument.
The monuments sits against the Capitoline hill, and just behind Capitoline Hill is the Roman Forum which runs to the Colosseum.

<a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/">The Spanish Steps Rome Italy</a> (once residence to the Spanish ambassador in the 1600s)is known in Italian as Piazza di Spagna (Spanish square). They lead up to the Trinita dei Monti, where the views over <a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/">Rome Italy</a> are spectacular.
The fountain at the bottom of the Spanish Steps is called "Fontana della Barcaccia" - old useless boat - and was designed by Bernini.
This area in the 17th and 18th century was the tourist heart of Rome.

Inside the Pantheon and then walking out viewing the massive columns and the square outside the Pantheon (Piazza della Rotonda).
The word Pantheon comes from the Greek words "pan" - everything - and "theon" - divine.
Built by Emperor Hadrian, it was the first temple for the common people. Up until that time only priests were allowed into places of worship.

The Pantheon is in remarkable condition considering it's over 2000 years old and cartainly Rome's oldest best kept monument.
Did you know the dome's hole is 9m in diameter, and contrary to some religious tales, the rain does perpetrate through the hole. In fact there is a drain in the marble floor directly beneath the opening in the dome.

The performance was by Nova Amadeus on the 6th January 2009 in the Church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, Rome Italy - only a few short steps around the corner from the Pantheon.
I had goosebumps throughout this unforgettable experience, not even this video can do justice as to how inspirational it was to stand amongst such history and art and then to listen to some of the greatest music from our history...

The Santa Maria Sopra Minerva church is one of Rome's better kept secrets. Built in the 13th Century its richly ordained interior has some exquisite art representing some of the greatest periods and styles of artistic history.

I took this video on my bicycle while going down Via delle Muratte.
To me Via delle Muratte represents a typical street in the
<a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/trevi-fountain-rome.html">Trevi Fountain</a> area and is also a window into the Roman culture.

The Via Muratte was once home to many artists that came from all over Italy to be inspired by the sights and sounds of Central Rome and of course the Trevi area.
