There is a wide shallow valley resting between two arms of the mountains... we are in it.

We are now seeing the beginnings of the mountains in the Laurentians. There are a lot of small lakes which the road winds around. Summer cottages and year-round homes and farms break up the dense bush   more...on either side of the road or ring the lakes.  less

We find Lost River, a tiny little town with two houses, a store and and a closed down pub. The language is English, as this area was settled by Irish immigrants. I bought a map of the area and we set   more...out for Mont Tremblant. I haven't been to Mont Tremblant since 1978 or so when the family went on a skiing trip. I fell off the ski tow which set my mode for descending the mountain. I am probably the only person to have fallen down the entire mountain, taken a day to do it, and lived to tell about it. I never went downhill skiing again. I am anxious to meet my enemy on friendlier terms, in the summer, sans skis.  less
