Have you ever wondered about what it would be like to be one of the beautiful people? What it's like to be adored? Ridiculous, though it seems, all of us have imagined that we were someone famous and   more...of the greatest importance. Life is so so strange. What any of us would do to share in the hidden secrets of the universe. To hold the key of life. To find that evasive truth that we are in eternal search for. Shakespeare wrote about it in the most famous speech of all time..."To be or not to be...that is the question'... yes that is the question put before us. The zen masters know of something that we don't. They know how to become completely detached from this life. To put the ego on the shelf...permanently. NOTHINGNESS is a word that scares the shit out of most 'westerners'...but upon further inquiry, NOTHINGNESS is beautifully serene and a magical state of mind...it's a surrender of yourself completely. If 'all the world's a stage'...well then, in this tranquil state of mind...you are no longer the 'player!!!...you are no longer the observed...you are the observer. ..."Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished"...yes indeed. Oh how very 'zen' of me...life is a joke without a punchline...It is a play...a lesson of character....who are you in this play? What is your agenda here? Are you really sharing your time with me because you're genuinely interested...or is their an angle in it for you? I only truly feel comfortable around someone when I feel that I can 'let my guard down'...when I am accepted for who I am...NOW! It's not a comfortable state to feel like you have to impress...actual it feels like shit. I remember learning long ago that I wasn't meant to be with the 'in crowd'. For all of you who decided that it is better to be 'true to yourself' rather then be true to the idea of 'fitting in'...I SALUTE YOU!!!  less

now wait a minute...just take a minute to let this soak in... this tune is misunderstood and seems will always BE misunderstood. There are so many different versions of god and worship that it is truly   more...overwhelming and confusing. How one usually lands a faith would depend upon how and where an individual might be raised. Who your parents are, and what part of the world you were brought up in plays a major role in your religious preferences!!!(if any) There is the god of abraham, there is jesus, and muhammad, alah, krishna buddha etc... Being once a pious altar boy in the church, I have become entirely disenchanted with just what it is that the church or even god has come to represent. But....still...i know that there is a higher consciousness. I'm just not trying to give it some kind of name anymore.  less

In the midst of the unknown certainties...that in which is tolerated but never spoken of...the realization of not "if" but "when"...lies that truth that exists in every one of us....It's   more...deep inside, waiting patiently to reveal and rear its ugly head to look us straight in the eye and tell us without blinking that "someday all of us must die"
c'mon now....are you going to tell me that you have never contemplated your own mortality???
Surely life has thrown you such moments, pains in the deepest part of your spirit...Such moments that have come across your existence as to completely change what you were before that moment in time existed.
Such pains and cries that only your soul and 'god knows, recorded and remembered in time with the rest of the moments of your life.
I sometimes ponder the unspeakable atrocities that we're committed upon the jews in the holocaust.
To imagine even 1 beautiful and precious person, someone who lived and breathed, a person who was living....a person who was "alive"...who smiled and cried and loved....only to have that life taken and ripped away in an moment of obstinate & unspeakable cruelty! "Could that be me?" "Surely not" I think to myself....but I am a fool! As if my life or death is any more significant or meaningful then "anyone" else's!
But here we are, you and I.
Someday we will come upon the hour of our death. It is inevitable.
Everyday...is precious! If you lived everyday as if it we're to be your last...how would you live?
If you didn't believe in any higher being or entity other then ourselves, then I suppose, for you, there would be no consequences for your actions...
but if you believed, even remotely, in the wheel of karma, well then every action would have consequences...
These are indeed strange and wonderous days....be informed!  less

C'mon and join the rEVOLution...!

The end of the year is nigh...tis hard to fathom. It is for me anyways. I've been plucking the strings of 'Freedom' for a very long time now. Actually I've always written songs that have been about 'knocking   more...down walls' in the political arena. There's evidence of this even here on U2b with the song "Where did everybody go" which is a relic from my distant past. I'm thankful that someone had saved that video. I had lost it long ago. It seemed like it might have meant something to someone as it gathered dust in a box hidden somewhere in the basement of a Seattle house.
Someone asked me what I would be doing if I wasn't writing songs about 'corruption' or 'conpspriacy', protest etc... and I was really kind a dumbfounded for a minute. I mean, I've never even thought about it. I usually have an answer for everything. But as I sat thinking about something clever to say I realized that was no clever answer to be given. No profound reason.
...Ah, but then again...I thought about the 'blues'. Thank god for the blues. It's my background. It's my screensaver... It's my bible. I might be 'losing my religion' but I'm not going to lose 'the blues'. The older I get...the more I know that I 'have' to sing the blues. It's simple. U know, the opposite of complicated...which is something that I tend to do all of the time....over-complicate things. I think America is learning how to sing the blues...once again. Don't you?

The soldiers of the Revolution must also 'keep things simple'. Ron Paul is still relatively unknown. Folks around me everywhere, especially when I perform are still coming up 2 me and asking "Who's that guy you're singing about again?..." and for the thousandth time I say, "U KNOW...RON PAUL...HE'S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT"...! and continue on with the story...once again! "Oh that's strange, I haven't heard about him or seen him on the news" they say. "Imagine that" I think to myself.
So....if Dr Ron Paul is 'forced' to step down from running as the 'Republican Candidate' in this presidential race...well then, have faith...the show is far from over. He is raising more then just eyebrows with the $$$$$$$$ and growing support. We must continue on, just has we've been doing from the beginning. We've accomplished so much, but yet, we haven't even skimmed the surface. Regardless of the ups and downs that will come with a presidential race...I've begun to see something that I never thought would see....and that is 'America beginning to awaken...!

At the end of each day, as I lay myself down to sleep. I am constantly made aware that the world in which we've always known and trusted...is coming to an untimely end. I am no longer able to forget that   more...which is in front of me...every which way that I turn. There is now a daily occurrence of police violence...the lies of the agenda in Iraq, the spread of unprovoked war into Iran. There is fear everywhere....fear of an unknown assailant who's looming above all of us...it's threatening us with financial ruin...people's mortgages are in jeopardy. Thousands of Americans are losing jobs to perpetrators of slave labor such as China and other fascist countries. There is fear of terrorism...of an imminent attack here in the homeland. Leaders are warning us over and over. I see it everywhere....it's in the grocery stores...it's on the highways, church's schools... Fear of course itself is an effective means of terrorism and control. Everything that we need to survive in this world is being threatened....our foods are poisoned by bio-terrorism...our cattle, fowl and pork meats are being manipulated and tortured to squeeze out the largest possible profits. Our water reservoirs are being slowly poisoned with chemicals. We are now feeling the effects of global warming through a massive carbon tax. The toys we buy for our children are poisoned with led paint, flu vaccines now contain high counts of mercury. The media is owned and run by the very same individuals who are imposing these atrocities upon the people, so of course journalism has become a circus. We are being spied on with the latest satellite technology, and they are writing there own laws as they go along to fit their agenda. President Bush is just a mere puppet. The real deal is going down in an environment of utmost secrecy manipulated by a group of individuals that cannot be touched. Many know but few speak about it!

I think anyone who knows history or just has experienced life in general knows that things are very rarely what they seem. It is foolish to ever underestimate the power of money and what it can do to anyone, given the opportunity. In the highest circle of wealth and power how do you think men get to such positions. Remember absolute power corrupts absolutely...addiction comes in many forms...or has Shakespere said "The devil hath the power to assume a pleasing shape"....Is it that difficult to imagine that there is a small group of individuals who, with unsupervised power can manipulate any government or organization they wish. People, governments, newspapers and media can always be bought...what wouldn't you do for a million dollars. Shit how 'bout a billion? Would you print lies for a price...? Would you kill for a price? Money has the horrible ability to influence any of us, on whatever level, to moments of extreme regret! Don't ever underestimate the power money. Absolute power corrupts absolutely! In a situation such as war, have you thought about just who benefits the most? If you have governments and senator's, lawmakers in your pockets...you could easily be manipulating both sides...against each other!!! I don't know why some of us think that this is an impossibility or "Why would anybody want to do such a thing?" I'll tell you why.....Absolute Power!!! Please read your history, the US has managed a democracy for over 200yrs. In the bigger scope of history...this is the exception....not the rule. Our Founding Fathers fought and died for our Freedom....and we are handing this precious freedom back without thinking....but
still "I've seen all good people" The truth is a light that shines forever bright!...and in the face of adversity men and woman show much strength and courage. I never really understood the quote: "Give me liberty of give me death" until now...
Wake up before it's to late...!
