MEMORIAL TRIBUTE

On the night of recording this (Friday 18th of July 2008) I had been playing about making stuff up at random for a couple of hours when I finally decided   more...to record myself. I had only intended to record for a few minutes, but before I realized it I had recorded a full tape (60 minutes). In these videos I've edited the 60 minute video down into 4 short videos where I believe the most interesting sounds can be found.

I took piano lessons for a year some 5 years ago, but then got too busy to continue because of school. I carried on playing about with the piano every now and then making up stuff at random as a way to relax. Up until the time of making these videos I had never recorded myself playing.

This little one tears up the piano

Something I just made up on the fly today.
When I woke up today... the 3rd time at 7 am I realized my new puppy was not feeling so swift with the little puddle of vomit she had left me as a present on   more...my bed.. I took her to the vet, and she is fine.. just ate something she shouldn't have. And, then I took her with me to my organic chemistry final. She slept in my lap the entire 2 hours and my prof was cool enough to let me keep her in the class room. When I turned in my test I was sooo happy to be going home with my happy puppy, and just sat down at the piano and started playing this... I would like to share it with all of you. And hope that your sour mornings turn into sunshiney happy afternoons just like mine did :)  less

Every online video musician seems to do Canon at least once. This is my version. Sheet music can be downloaded at Www.TAYZONDAY.COM. I made mistakes throughout this take that were corrected in post-production.   more...(I mainly messed up by bumping into extra notes in the fast parts). I would love to hear this arrangement interpreted by other people.

This is a little peek behind the scenes in the studio working on this song for the video Zack is putting together to benefit cancer research. Zack and I have never met although some day we might. I sent   more...him a basic (tightly timed) "bed-track" and he recorded and sent me back seperate vocal and guitar lines. Now the song can be re-assembled, using these tightly syncronised tracks and will turn out much better. Stay tuned for more progress.  less
