This is the second installment of my Phtoshop demos/tutorials where I show y'all the fun of just creating somthing from scratch in this wonderfully versatile program. In the local art community I am   more...mostly known for my humorous paintings of cats, and sometimes, when teaching a client how to use photoshop as a painting tool, I'll whip out one of my cats as a quickie demonstration. This is one way to do it starting with a monochrome gray image, then adding color to taste. To run in the time allotted I had to speed the video up a notch, but the process is still pretty fast and gobs of fun.

Amazing examples of the wonderful things you are able to do with photoshop!

Here is Episode Three, in case you're counting. This time I'll be using Layers and Shape tools to create a caricature of a popular LiveVideo vlogger whom I enjoy. You'll probably figure out who it is   more...when I paint in their background. It's a little more complex than the sketches I've done in the previous sessions, because layers are involved, BUT SEE THAT YOU ARE NOT AFRAID. Layers are your bestest friends! Reather than "Draw" the picture this time, I mostly use the shape tools to create geometric masses of color, whic I then modify with the Smudge tool, and model with the Burn tool. So while this is going to be a whirlwind of activity, I'm still doing very simple stuff using a minimum of features. Even I have a little trouble following along with the sped-up action, so just sit back and enjoythe process of creeation. Repeated viewings will give you the chances to pick up more procedural details if you're interested in persuing this yourself.

I thought I'd give y'all some more "Bonus features" with an audio commentary on my most recent TYRANNOVISION episode.

Sometimes local filmmakers approach me to do some animation or special effects on their projects. 'American Alien" is available for viewing online, or as a download, but there are some DVD's in   more...existence and I designed and animated the menus. That's me as the astronaut and the dancing alien.

The "Disney dust" transformations I did for the "conscience" in "Punk James" was supposed to be for a "remastered" DVD edition of that movie. The fate of that project is still undetermined, but you may recognize Robert Anderson from the "Filming the Flea Prople" documentary on my channel.

The THIRD movie(Title withheld) was a disatrous project that I wound up being cajoled into by a friend of a friend, and when the filmmaker heard I was an animator and effects guy, he wanted me to create an elaborate delusional confrontation between "God" and "Satan". For the weeks I worked on that project with NO pay whatsoever, The Director/writer/star decided to cut out most of my animation in favor of more closeups of himself in a self-indulgent exercise in cinematic narcissism that was already a paean to close-ups of the Director/writer/star. Anyway, MY edit of the scene, with all the animation intact, you will only see here. Also, as usual, I became the default voices of the two animated entities.

A time lapse drawing in photoshop of Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke. It's about as good as I've seen it done.

This is the first in a series of demo/tutorials in which I demonstrate how to create images in Photoshop from scratch, working largely in freehand. In this episode I doodle one of my bizarre alien skulls,   more...using primarily the "Dodge" and "Burn" tools over a dark background. Besides being a fast and effective technique for "painting" a picture, it also shows you how I work my own creative process when designing something, or when I just want to cut loose and have some creepy fun.

Cool random use of time. This was a camera or just a Logitech webcam
  more...that was set it up to take a photo every two seconds and then left for
3 hours. Then stitch together at 30 frames/sec.
You don't have to just sit there and wait for it to finish.
And with an amazing result I might add! ;)
