Piazza Navona is absolutely spectacular during Christmas Time in Rome Italy. I managed to get this clip at 9:00Pm December 18th 2008 at a relatively quiet time before the square starts filling up.
In the center of the square is the beautiful "Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi" - the fountain of the four rivers.
On the sides of the squares you have different stalls displaying their Christmas nativity scenes, selling roasted chest nuts and hot bagels.
You gotta love Rome, something and someone interesting around every corner!---

<p>La Piazza della Bocca della Verita or The Mouth of Truth Square in Rome Italy. </p><p>The mouth of truth, dating to the 4th cantury BC is set into the wall of the portico of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin. Legend has it that in medieval times the jaws would snap shut over the hands of those not telling the truth.</p><p>The temple that one sees at the start of the clip is the Temple of Hercules, just behind it is the Temple of Portunus, these are the best preserved of Rome Republican times temples. The church itself is often overlooked which is a pity because the inside is beautifully adorned. This park of Rome (Parco di tor fiscale) contains the "Acquedotto Felice" and the Claudian Acqueduct. Named after Pope Felice and Emperor Claudius. The park is located about 10 km outside the center of Rome in the direction of the Castelli Romani (Where the water originally came from.)
The Claudian acqueduct is the best remaining example of an above ground roman acqueduct in <a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com">Rome Italy</a>, unfortunately it is not in operation. However, incredibly, there is still one acqueduct that remains in operation from the ancient Roman times, the Virgo acqueduct. This acqueduct supplies the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and Piazza di Spagna with water.

<a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/">The Spanish Steps Rome Italy</a> (once residence to the Spanish ambassador in the 1600s)is known in Italian as Piazza di Spagna (Spanish square). They lead up to the Trinita dei Monti, where the views over <a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com/">Rome Italy</a> are spectacular.
The fountain at the bottom of the Spanish Steps is called "Fontana della Barcaccia" - old useless boat - and was designed by Bernini.
This area in the 17th and 18th century was the tourist heart of Rome.

Commissioned by Emperor Caracalla the <a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com">Ancient Roman Baths of Caracalla</a> were completed AD 217. These <a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com">Roman bath houses</a> boasted modern plumbing of copper tubing and valves, and could accommodate over 1500 guests at a time.
What I am trying to achieve with this and my other videos is to give people a feel for <a href="http://www.romanlife-romeitaly.com">Rome Italy and real Roman daily life</a>. Let me know how I am doing, thanks.  less

This was actually a calm day, you should see how it gets in Summer! The building that appears to the right is the Victor Emmanuel Monument.
The monuments sits against the Capitoline hill, and just behind Capitoline Hill is the Roman Forum which runs to the Colosseum.

I haven't seen too many chinese street performers in Taipei. They're typically white foreigners from the USA or Canada. Occasionally, you'll see an african american do some breakdancing moves on the   more...street with a loud boom box. I've yet to see a chinese or asian non-taiwanese foreigner from the USA do street performance.  less
