One Step Beyond was a series show which began airing in 1959. The show primarily dealt with dramatized versions of paranormal events. This episode which is from the third season was an exception. John   more...Newland along with doctors, and scientists took along a camera crew into the mountains of Mexico in search of the Sacred Mushroom.
In one scene, a few "brujos" (native shamen) are encountered and agree to guide the party in a mushroom ceremony. In the next scene, John Newland is back in the states, and along with Dr. Andrija Puharich, several ESP tests are conducted on John before and after injesting the mushroom they call "X".
This really is a facinating thing to watch considering this was series television (ABC) broadcast nationally in 1961... possibly one of the only times a psychedelic substance was injested and broadcasted.  less

Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, or Cockies as we Aussies affectionately call them, are native birds to Australia. They are intelligent, fun birds and many people keep them as pets. They are so popular that   more...you can now find them in many countries across the globe.

This video is of a "rescue bird" named Snowball who resides in America. Snowball loves to sing and dance - particularly to the Backstreet Boys. We won't comment on his choice of music (he probably never had the chance to listen to Taxiride since he didn't grow up in his native land), but he's a great dancer!

*READ BEFORE WATCHING*
Not the usual music I use, but I forgot about this song for a long time and a friend of mine reminded me about the band and what good videos their songs make. And I re-found this   more...one and came up with an epiphany. Be patient at the beginning of the song, it is a story done in both Cherokee and English (lyrics/translation at the bottom). But the pay off is right after the horse stampede...just wow. This is an awesome song. The sound effects at the beginning are actually ON the song, I didn't add them and did my best to match them up.

This was a total bitch to make. Lip synching, matching the sound effects in the song, matching the lyrics/beats in the song, those god damn battle cries, matching the mood/emotion of the lyrics, my back hurts from slouching in this chair too long....damn. 3 days of working on this. There were times I regretted coming up with this idea.

Movies included: Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Pocohontas, Brother Bear, and a little bit of Balto. However, the song is about none of these movies. Usually I make videos about a movie, this time, I made one about a song.

In honour of our First Nations peoples, the real founders of our Land. Go back in history, walk in their footsteps, and remember what was once their majesty, and learn from their ancient wisdom.

I can see I am going to have difficulty categorizing some of my videos, as more and more of them belong in a "Spiritual" category. I have chosen to place this one in "Arts & Animation"   more...as it does showcase some wonderful art.

In seeking to remedy the gaps in my own historical education, and learn more about the indigenous peoples of North America, I found a wonderful website called "Native American Church Art" (http://nacart.com). The majority of the paintings in this simple slideshow video are borrowed from that website. I encourage you to visit and see more wonderful art. The spoken part comes from the classic Folkways recording (vinyl pops and all!) called "The Kiowa Peyote Meeting" a series of recordings made by Harry Smith and originally released as a box set with commentary in 1973. I have always found this particular passage deeply moving.

The Native American Church was founded in the 1890's by Quanah Parker, and became a formal entity in 1918. Parker's image is shown at the beginning and the end of this video.

I spent part of my youth in a remote area of Northern Manitoba, where indigenous peoples, primarily Woodland Cree, outnumbered caucasions by a significant margin. My best friend at the time was an Ojibway girl whose family had moved to the area from Southern Ontario. Although not always understanding their ways, I have always enjoyed friendships with First Nations individuals, and they have my respect. It's my wish to eventually return to the North and settle there permanently.

I initially encountered difficulty with the making of this video, and had to abandon its original form. I will only say that my hand was guided in creating the resulting video in its present form. I hope you enjoy it.  less

The directive released on May 9th, 2007 has been hidden from us. Search youtube bush dictator... or search for: NSPD 51/HSPD 20 In this directive, Bush declares that in the event of a "Catastrophic Emergency" the President will be entrusted with leading the activities to ensure constitutional government. The language in this directive would in effect make the President a dictator in the case of such an emergency. The directive defines a "Catastrophic Emergency" as the following. "Catastrophic Emergency" means ANY incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions... If we bomb Iran, or the next president is assassinated (before inauguration), an economic depression, a natural disaster, riots... any trigger could be called a Catastrophic Emergency and Bush would declare martial law and remain in power for an undetermined length of time. Department of Homeland Security has a $385 million contract with Halliburton to build temporary detention facilities. Search Youtube for American Concentration camps or search: rex 84 operation garden plot. Bush pardons himself of war crimes and now he is trying to suspend the 2008 elections and declare himself a dictator. Search Youtube, Google it. Spread the word and stop him!
